Agreed big hero the CAA won't state what brandore likely to set a high bench mark, which obviously means Avacta get involved
Anyway off you go to visit your fanclub
The CAA could potentially give a test for use but it won’t be one brand only. The airlines have more of a say in the workings of the CAA than most realise. There will be a regulation that they have to perform to and the airlines will choose the one they can get a deal with the manufacturer. Too much competition for Avacta to become the aviation saviour.
Agreed Innova has no place in the aviation industry. Total rubbish that should never have been produced.
Anyway, this has been too much serious discussion for Bighero. I need to go and fill my bank account with ODX shares and wait for my longed for Avacta buy in…. timed to perfection.
When the airline industry gets going bighero they will want it to continue without disruption. Innova doesn’t appear to solve anything, especially with Delta.
Cheapest isn’t always best. Affidx isn’t particularly expensive.
Of course it will be charged to the passenger, but I actually believe long term it'll be the CAA who tells the airlines what test is to be used, yeah indeed code share flights that's why I think it will become an international agreement or law ie CAA controlling it similar to security
Vegas, shall we throw all the IAG group into that equation? How about codeshare partners as well or airlines part of one world? What about if you book on finnair and found out your actually on a BA flight which is easily possible?
Trust me, I know the airline industry and they won’t buy the most expensive anything if they can get away with it. They will pass the cost to the consumer and they will do deals to get a test that’s the cheapest they can that conform to regulations. They may go for comfort to be fair but apart from that price will be the differentiator. Did you know that nearly all procurement for BA is at IAG level now?
Big hero, take Heathrow to Madrid, 2 carriers BA and Iberia roughly same cost one uses Avacta the other Innova who do you fly with?
Heathrow to Amsterdam, 2 carriers BA and KLM roughly same cost one uses Avacta the other Innova who do you fly with?
Believe me I know about aviation and one starts using the best the others will follow they love bragging rights and think they're all the best.
Vegas - no they won’t. They will keep costs down and pay for the cheapest that pass the required standards. Some already use LFTs for their staff and it’s none of the well known ones. Most costs will be passed to customers
Tell me what is incorrect in that previous post Cashless?
To answer your condom query… Bighero’s parents were thrilled to the proverbial bits when they found out those sperm and egg cells had intertwined. The beginnings of a truly seismic shift for planet Earth and a gift to the whole world. This was no accident. For people wanting to procreate greatness BH is considering becoming a donor of his high capacity sperm. I can take credit card Cashless.
Airlines certainly will pay for the best
Look what Bigheros parents got for using cheap condoms!
Bighero didn’t say they would use cheap rubbish. Bighero said the cheapest test that was legal. Hence not rubbish, just cheap. Keep up Avactarians.
CJ62, if you can ever show me BA using an Avct LFT I will bare my bottom in my takeaway window. UNLESS they are the cheapest available. However the reality is there will be an approved list of tests from various governments and it will be on the consumer to pay for one. Airlines will not pay.
Thanks Scaredy.
This will be either updated or superseded to align with green light reg’s. These requirements are aligned to mass testing.

Click on "Medical Devices (Coronavirus Test Device Approvals) Regulations 2021." link.
This takes you to the actual legislation changes behind the new guidelines:
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukdsi/2021/9780348224795
See 38B (3) (a):
(3) A coronavirus test device that is an antigen test must have—
(a)a level of sensitivity, using a 95% two-sided confidence interval, that is entirely above 60%;
(b)a level of specificity, using a 95% two-sided confidence interval, that is entirely above 93%.
Note: The new legislation applies to the private testing market only. It has nothing to do with government procurement of LFT's. The gateway to supplying LFT's to the govt is still Porton Down.
The 60% figure confirms to me we are governed by cretins or folk on the receiving end of brown envelopes. So entry to an event is by LFT result, I opt for an Avacta LFT at 100% sensitivity across the infectious range whereas you opt for a 60% LFT. We both have negative results but you have Covid and end up sitting next to me. Thanks Boris. Why not drop it to 50% and sort it with a coin toss is my suggestion to the Prime Moron.
see Captain Haddock, 9.34 this morning xx
Thanks scaredy. Can you post this link please.
oops "outweighs "
"If you read the new govt guidelines, the acceptable level of sensitivity is above 60%, so quite a low bar."
That is my concern too! There should be either a higher bar or a two tier bar, the second tier being close to PCR accuracy!! The cheap n cheerful tests will go to the uninformed organisations, but hopefully the large organisations will understand that the best is not necessarily the cheapest and the impact on their productivity/workforce absences far outlays getting it wrong!
“ If I was a potentially High Risk patient should I catch Covid - a middle aged, sedentary, overweight business exec for instance I'm not sure I'd find the current Government acceptable level of Sensitivity of 90% particularly reassuring”
If you read the new govt guidelines, the acceptable level of sensitivity is above 60%, so quite a low bar.
For anyone who really understands the LFT application and new technical guidelines you will notice that some of the criteria won’t be able to be completed by innova, whilst Avacta has all areas covered and will qualify for approval..
As it stands all airlines flying from Spain to Uk are accepting negative results from poor quality Chinese LFD’s as this is what the British Government are accepting for entry to UK, it is the other countries who are asking for PCR and less so now for the fully vaccinated. Personally I think the private b2b market for Avacta will be large multi nationals, 100k + employees each who are trying to get staff back to the office and generally only deal with the best of the best in everything they do, there are plenty of them
BH....the new technical guidelines will eliminate the cheap rubbish:

Stop talking ****** BH.
Ryanair maybe but the likes of BA AA QANTAS only the best i am afraid.
Do you just stare at yourself all day in the mirror ?
We all know airlines will go with the cheapest tests deemed legal and put this cost on the customer if possible. It will not be Prince Al’s Avacta unless they become they cheapest option. This talk of airlines wanting the best test is wiffle waffle as usual. Legal and cheap will be order of they day. BH knows his stuff
