Boris said.. 'and so over the next few days and weeks we plan a steady but massive expansion in the deployment of these quick turnaround tests applying them in an ever growing number of situations from helping women to have their partners with them in labour wards when they’re giving birth to testing whole towns and even whole cities.'
Nite the wording...' ever growing'
I read this as a roll out from in hospital, to test centres then home. The first can be administered by trained professionals and then DIY like ours as soon as available... Perhaps Boris is like us, waiting for the tech transfer thumbs up so he has used Govt speak to blurr the time lines.. Not a lie just grey rather than black and white until we all know when our test will be rolling off the production lines in volume...
Analysis:
Firstly - an assumption the UK Gov is organised and has planned ahead (see below: LFT assessment).
Secondly - to roll out the Logistic programme the test must already have been bought, or at the very least tendered and awarded. At least Phase 1 anyway. Also, the delivery/freight chain must already have been tendered and awarded. Military units brought in to assist with regional distribution.

Lateral Flow Test Kits for Testing of Covid-19. The provision of freight services for the supply of lateral flow test kits for testing of Covid-19. Awarded to British Airways. Published 30 Oct.
"The supply of these new test kits is currently limited in the face of very high global demand and consequently it was necessary to contract for supply on an ex-works basis for product manufactured in China in order to secure the required quantity of product and prevent gazumping."
"In light of these factors the contract was awarded to British Airways PLC to meet the specific urgent need to transport test kits to the UK, utilising flights from Shanghai, China to London during September."
"The short lead time between validating new test kits and needing these kits in the UK to support the national response to a second wave of Covid-19 cases in the UK, justifies the use of direct award under Regulation 32 provision within the Public Contracts Regulations 2015."

MM its like PL has said yhe testing now is just a stop gap and a trail with army/boots on the ground to trail how mass testing can reduce the R number and get some semblance of normality back.
The consensus of Bojos statement as I understand it is that the real game changer test will come in the new year and by spring everything will be grand, 100m tests per month?
Affaman, yes I think so Saliva is difficult, Mologic may or may not have Saliva nailed but maybe just Affimers are going to nail it.. I hope so :)
Sorry. Make that Radio 5 live.
Channel 0105. Just about to start.
Well everyone says saliva lfd is difficult. Mologic may have a very average one and maybe the use of affimers is currently the only way to get a really good one.
Just to note that in the latest ODX presentation, CK was very clear that there is no intention to seek MRHA home use approval for the Mologic test. That may change but, for now, that’s the position.

Great posts, I completely get where you’re coming from
Unfortunately this is all very new to all of us
There is a market for many different tests
Serving different purposes.
The government whoever are desperate to get things back to normality ASAP
Hence why purchasing the best in the current market place, some are just a sticking plaster
Some already disregarded
Hence why they are going through stricter dd to purchase the next tests from only a handful of manufacturers
Avacta with affirmer is perfect for many reasons
Short and long term testing:
1. It will prob be the only test that can adapt to the mutating virus
2. Rapid 10 min max
3. No swabbing
4. Self testing anywhere anytime
5. Now possibly more cost effective with government backing and order book
6. Variation of testing for different scenarios
Bams, Elisa, LFT and sewage etc etc
Re timing I wish I could answer that, I believe we are very close to the tech transfer
So possibly a RNS soon?
Well that’s another “competitor” bites the dust. Avct will be the only one left in the game at this rate and all the “we need this test last week” brigade will scurry off when it’s finally proved it’s not first to market but best to market
Yes Trek.
Sorry, I posted before seeing your reply. I am clinging to that hope.

Boris was lying .
Again, risking sounding like the dumbest turd in the sewer.
I am somewhat hopeful that it is our test. It ticks every box of the test that Big Al has been talking about for months. the only box it does not tick, is the "I will inform the market when tech transfer is complete" one.
That could easily be explained away by NDA's.
So on the one hand, I am hopeful that we will get an RNS Monday confirming it is us. But if this really isn't us I can't help but feel that wont be a good sign for Avacta shareholders. At least in the short term.
Milk,
We don’t know. My earlier post on DTR explains that the info we seek can be legitimately withheld.
Wind it forward...I sold my AVCT shares and the sp rocketed can I have my money back? DTR says no!
The sovereign deal means all eventualities under exceptional circumstances are covered.
Trek
OK. So I am gonna have to risk sounding like the dumbest turd in the sewer.
But I just don't get it.
The same people on here saying it isn't our test are also saying that it doesn't matter. We will still sell everything we can make. Ours is the holy grail. We are the governments sovereign supplier.
Boris said.
1) The tests are ready to be rolled out next week.
2)The tests can identify the infectious
3)The tests can be done at home
4)The tests give a result in 10-15 minutes.
Great. Sounds like our "holy grail" test. The kind of test the Governement would want to assist in ramping production for. The kind of test it would want to use as it's sovereign supply. the kind of test that will make this seem "a whole lot better by Spring".
So, and sorry for my confusion. If a kind of test like this isn't ours, and it is ready now- why is that not a problem?
Talking of sport's news.
If you are not pay per viewing you can listen to Usyk v Chisora on Talk Sport.
If not on the wireless, try Sky Channel 0108.
Should be starting soon.
It’s Boris.....
Could mean anything
And the latest Covid sports news....
House purchase 1 Avacta Rapid test 0
Sir Al bought his house at the right time.
I’m not talking about the world and a full philosophical debate, I’m just saying that sir al has told us he’ll tell us when tech transfer is complete so that’s what’s most likely.
MF, hang in there, you have come this far.
Have faith, Innova is not self administered, you need a health professional to administer - Boris actually said ‘you use yourself to see if your infectious’
BAM’s any day
Within weeks we will be there with our test, it’s coming sir.

Old news, try and catch up
Maybe good idea to read other posts on here
Than being your own Covid Yorkshire tea bubble
There is going to be a lot going on in the next couple of months and on into the New Year. If the aim is for everyone to have a family Christmas then the stockings need to be filled with Gift Certificates for Rapid DIY Home Testing Kits to be available during the January Sales...
Has anyone calculated how many tests are going to be needed... The demand will be huge and not just from the UK...

We’ve had the CEO tell us that he’ll update the market once tech transfer is complete and then give more details. As someone mentioned, Occam’s razor usually applies.
There’s been no tech transfer. There’s been no figures from Porton Down re Avacta. There’s been nothing from Liverpool. There’s been nothing on BAMS. There’s been nothing on intent to explore other markets other than UK. There’s been nothing on Medusa other than the clarity of antibody.
There has only been radio silence. Now if you look through the material disclosure rules DTR. 5.2. there are provisions for these scenarios.
There are also numerous wartime acts that can be applied to pandemic situations from commandeering cruise ships to businesses. These are valid and easy to find.
DTR....
Delaying disclosure .....................................................................................................
[deleted]
[article 17(4), (5) and (8) of the Market Abuse Regulation]
Issuers should be aware that ESMA has issued guidelines under article 17(11) of the Market Abuse Regulation which contain a non-exhaustive indicative list of the legitimate interests of issuers to delay disclosure of inside information and situations in which delayed disclosure is likely to mislead the public. The ESMA MAR delayed disclosure guidelines are available here: https://www.esma.europa.eu/sites/default/files/library/2016-1478_mar_ guidelines_-_legitimate_interests.pdf.
Legitimate interests and when delay will not mislead the public .....................................................................................................
(1) Delaying disclosure of inside information will not always mislead the public, although a developing situation should be monitored so that if circumstances change an immediate disclosure can be made.
(2) Investors understand that some information must be kept confidential until developments are at a stage when an announcement can be made without prejudicing the legitimate interests of the issuer.
https://www.handbook.fca.org.uk/handbook/DTR.pdf
.........
So basically you have a legal justification for ‘radio silence’ that could mean that many of the objectives in my first paragraph have been concluded!
Fact is we don’t know the facts!
Trek
@Pl75 what are you talking about BBI and Abington are still advertising they aren't making avacta tests ;)
