Inside info is outweighing outside info in the testing sphere I would suggest!
if we were in validation would we have had an RNS, or are there some silence rules in force at the moment?
Picking up on the language Sir John Bell used, He said we have 4 pretty good ones, not looking good or possibly good. So it leads me to believe the testing is all but complete and perhaps just needs reviewing and writing up
Can’t believe you could be bothered to read as far as check book.
It's cheque book not check book, ********.
We are supposed to have the best and the simplest test in the world so why are we not in front of the line. Hmm.... Al get the check book out and make some donations to the Tories for goodness sake before its too late!!
You get what you pay for :-)
'which may be cheaper than ours?'
Evidence for this supposition
So are we up against three tests which may be cheaper than ours?
SD Biosensor is Indian, Innova product is made in China, Healgen is owned by Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co.,LTD/China.
Maybe a question to ask Alistair on Monday. Are we the 4th test that is being analysed by Condor?
If 3 of the 4 are SD Biosensor, Healgen & Innova, they are not British, but more importantly are not 'quoted' coys. Could explain the silence re the 4th (Avacta being listed).
If we are the mystery 4th (which makes sense) I assume we are not on this list because the validation is ongoing (which would be positive as last official update was that it would start ASAP). And ASAP was because for some annoying reason they were still not ready with a first batch.
So fingers crossed for Monday...
Certainly think Avacta’s LFD is the 4th test.
From the link posted by PL75, the results from these LFD assessments are coming through and the Gov.uk document was updated 23/9. Still only 3 tests but the dates suggest that phase 2/3 validation can be completed inside 4 weeks with phase 2 taking 2/3 weeks.
I’m hoping the BBI tweet 17/9 signaled that a successful pilot batch (checked by LSTM first perhaps) had been generated which provided tests for phase 2 of CONDOR starting the following week. If this was the case then would expect validation completed by 16/10.
Possible the tweet signaled that a successful pilot batch of 4000 tests had been generated to enter phase 3 of CONDOR the following week. If this was the case then would expect validation completed by 25/9. Results RNS on Monday!! I wish!
More likely the BBI tweet 17/9 signalled “fooled you”. It was irrelevant.
The 7/8 RNS states that, LSTM will carry out a clinical validation of the Avacta COVID-19 antigen rapid saliva test in their category 3 laboratories on patient samples. I’m one who assumes this was in addition to the government's CONDOR validation. Results would surely be imminent.
On 15/8 the CONDOR programme moved the assessment of rapid LFD’s to PHE Porton Down. Presumably this was to speed up the process of finding a LFD test which would be the 'holy grail'. Suggests CONDOR is overrun with products to test, 60 across the Covid test types at last count. I think this is why BAMS validation is taking so long especially if it’s getting shunted down their priority list.
The govt doc says the SD biosensor test is saliva. I can’t find anything on t’internet that says this. I can only find a swab test.
Innova - "The SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Qualitative Test is intended for use by trained clinical
laboratory personnel specifically instructed and trained in the techniques of in vitro
diagnostic procedures, and proper infection control procedures and individuals similarly
trained in point of care settings. "
Not what Boris is talking about
SD Biosensor. Do not like their disposal policy! This is potentially contaminated waste!
15-30 minute nasal swab test
Test, test, test
Interesting link to the Innova test......
Thoughts ??

Biotech.. conservative 5-15 x projected forward revenue (2/3 years)
GLA
Roche are manufacturing the SD biosensor test I believe. Pretty sure not all that will come to uk market as all govs will be scrambling for the same tests.
3 rapid tests have been evaluated, SD Biosensor, was one and 2 names I did not recognise.
Someone sent a link to Condor/Raptor update, which I have been trying to find, if anyone else can remember it.
Searching I found this link to Raptor/SD Biosensor training video

Huge market.
He also said 5m tests a day.
If we are one of the four and take a quarter of that that’s 1.25m tests a day for our LFT in the UK alone.
At even just over £2 profit a test that’s closing in on £1bn a year profit. FROM ONE COUNTRY!!!!
Plus everything else Avacta has on top of this
He stated plan fo ramp to 5 million tests a day with a lot of that being lfts. As the tech stands they might need 4 million per day plus to be lfts. If all 4 lfts are purchased in equal quantities thats 30 million per month each on average. Of course due to affimers Avacta's could easily be the best in terms of performance, cost and scalability so it may well take a greater share.
4 LFTs that look good and could be rolled out at scale.
Bearing in mind some could be antibody.
That sounds like a really big potential market, even if it is split 4 ways....
