I certainly hope so, I will be looking to move some profit I've made in UKOG and AST over here shortly. Have a reasonable holding already but I believe this could be about to move north quite quickly and certainly doesn't seem to drifting lower and lower as it has been for the past few months. This may well be the bottom. Will be adding when I can. Very much a long term hold IMO
The Abundance website says that the whole hog has now been raised selling the debentures. 21 days to raise £4.3m this way for an AIM firm is pretty impressive. Any chance of this potential now rubbing off on the sp?
Wave power could contribute 10 % of global electricity demand by 2050 According to Ocean Energy Europe, a total of 337gigawatts (GW) worth of wave power could be sourced by 2050, with a market value around £76 billion ($97 billion). MPS believes global marine resources could be worth an estimated 4,000 terawatt hours (TWh) annually. The wave energy industry can become an economic success story, following in the footsteps of more mature renewable technologies such as wind and solar to become a source of reliable, affordable, clean energy.” Let’s hope we are in this element of the energy re-generation program as well !!!!!! 37.35 is the true buy price but will show as a sell as it's below the current share price. This has always been the problem with LSE and if that price remains it might result in a tick down from 37.5 to 37.0. Price to sell will therefore likely be on or below 37. I personally think this is a good level to buy in.
My buy of just over 4,000 shares this morning is showing as a sell?!?!? There has only been three trades this morning but is that even true? It seems LSE trade reporting isn't accurate, this has also happened to me a couple of times over at AST. Can't trust the buy/sell volume here.......
Enlightening AGM
Olympic Ares is back at Nigg Energy Park. Turbines back in the water soon.
Thanks IsolatedBod. Completely agree that the slide is due to lack of news. Doubt it will be long coming. There may be rules but rules are there to be broken as they say. Seen it all before sadly. GL.
Yes, yes. You said about the currents in your previous post. In fact, in a very similar way to Stroma did those months ago. Thank you, it is very interesting. What I can't understand is why you are being so rude. You have described investors as "dummies", "pure numpties" and, in the last post, described a board member as a "loser". That is even when that member declared they have divested from ARL - something you seem desperate to convince others to do. It is nice about the funding though, isn't it? Much more secure than I thought only a month ago.
Ctw2014 Your about as accurate with that statement as you were in your arguments with Stroma about ARL when she was trying to warn everybody to get out. Now you admit she was correct, although you don't have the guts to come out and say so, BIG MEMBER that you are. However the token fact you bailed out says it all. A loser who can't be told anything. Iso.Bod ARL should forget about heightening awareness of any other project, especially Tidal after the botch up at Stroma. It's among the strongest currents in the world, and SADLY had they got it right it would have spoke for itself BIG TIME. Sadly nobody local was consulted for advice BIG WOLD LEADERS AT THE FOREFRONT OF TECHNOLOGY AND THEY FORGOT A SIMPLE THING ( SO THEY SAY, AND OPENLY ADMIT ) LIKE CHECKING THE SEABED FIRST, WHERE PHASE 1 WAS GOING TO BE INSTALLED ----- UNBELIEVABLE. Who is going to trust them with their money after that sort of simple GIGANTIC mistake, maybe a few numpties. After all the supposedly well genned up ( on the Maygen Project ) Ctw2014 fell for it. Like I say not the least surprised to see this at 20p before the end of the year. Far as I am concerned Millions £ of investors money lost through complete lack of forward planning to overcome such a simple thing and they couldn't even get that right.
Similarities indeed. Though I thought that there was a rule about multiple accounts, so it can't be so. Best of luck with your alternative at the moment CTW. The slide I think is more lack of news, though to be honest and update on the progress from the company would be nice.
Surely nobody can believe these two aren't one and the same? Can't be two on the planet like it. Just saying. For transparency I am out for the moment as the steady slide (in common with plenty of other good companies) was nibbling into past profits here a little too much. I will buy back in when it turns, which I am confident it will.
Thank you for you input about the company, WhatCheil. It was enlightening. I am sorry that you felt it necessary to call the investors numpties, especially as you declare you are not an investor. I am sure you have your reasons. Does anyone know about the Wyre Tidal Project ? It looks very much the kind of project to heighten awareness of ARL.
You state in your last post : - You better believe there must have been issues with the very first wind turbine. Atlantis is at the forefront of a new global industry. Yeh ! a world leader at the forefront ?? But NEVER took any local advice from these who fished the area since time began. NEVER EVEN THOUGHT to check out the seabed that was supposedly uneven. Never even realised when the divers were connecting the onl turbine to the frame that the frame was not sitting securely. WORLD LEADERS AT THE FOREFRONT OF TECHNOLOGY but just forgot about the simple things that helps to make success ----- OR JUST NEVER BOTHERED . ---- HOPING EVERYTHING WOULD BE OK.. At the FOREFRONT ? A WORLD LEADER ??? Yeh !! Right that's just the way a WORLD LEADER Performs. ----------- I THINK NOT . Glad it's not my money tied in here. If you cant understand and think it's acceptable what happened, stick with it until all your money is gone. Then you will finally realise you've been led by a bunch of idiots
Semms to me most of the Investors here, like yourself are pure NUMPTIES. TRIALLING, EXPERIMENTING with Millions of £'s of shareholders money without doing any proper research at all it would seem. Oh ! just drop the bases on the sea bed. Now put the Turbine on now connect it up and see the blades turning to generate power. OH !!! look the whole things rocking, it's going to be wrecked, shut it down quick. Phew !! that was close, just as well it's only 1 that went down if it was all 4 we'd have been wiped out. My god we should have checked the seabed first, we never thought of that or perhaps used diver that could see. Oh well good job it's only the investors money. Some people will suck in any rubbish. Perhaps the penny will drop by the time this hits the 20's. Not much coming from Stroma's 3 wise men now. Possibly like the Divers they could not see what was staring them in the face, bet they can see what's hitting their pockets hard now though. Dummies
Kiwi69 your as gullible as all the rest Invested here. Shows just how much research ARL did for Phase 1 " MILLIONS " spent opn it and now all lost setting them back at least another year before any profit ( if even then ) will start to be generated. Any intelligent Co. spending that amt. of money ( if it was supposedly the seabed or was that just the shite spun for the benefit of the ignorant investors ) would of had Divers down first to check that out where they were putting down bases and 1 Turbine ( because the rest never went down ) that cost millions. Also a decent Co. would have checked out with the local fishermen for advice on Sea bed / currents. NO attempt was ever made to do this.w YES !! a massive disaster nearly lost the lot like a rocking horse it POSSIBLY only lasted a few days and it WAS ALL OVER. So Stroma was righ about the 3 Noddies that ridiculed her on here. Possibly tied in with the project and couldn't face the fact being out. YES ! YES ! YES, a complete disaster, why do you think the emphasis is on wind now. This Floated on the Market at 96p just over 2 years ago . Withing 2 month of that it was down at ther low 40's It's still there now and possibly before the back end of the year it will be into the 20's A PURE DODO that will probably take another 18 month min to get back to float price. Just as well the other 3 never went down or the lot would have tipped over and been completely wiped out. Then the year end losses would have been horrendous probably even wiping out ARL. who knows. Anyway my post wasn't long in being removedfrom here . I WONDER WHY ? Did it cut to the bone, personally I would not touch this share with a Barge Pole let alone money, You'll get a bigger return on your cash from any Bank As for the mugs that bought in at float price you'll possibly wait 3 years + to see what you would have got from leaving your cash in the Bank for only 1 year. YES !! what thorough research went into this project. Uneven sea bed ????? WHAT ? were the Divers that went down to ensure the bases were correctly positioned (before the FIRST and only Turbine was installed ) all Blind ??? or did they just think Far Kit we'll just take a chance, that nothing will happen when the Only Turpine goes on, so don;t say nothing to nobody and lets hope it will be ok. WISE UP CLOWNS some people will believe whatever's spoon fed to them THE SEA BED WAS UNEVEN, YEH !!! BUT IT'S TOO LATE NOW LETS JUST LEAVE IT AND HOPE ..,. yeh right !!! how old were the research and design team involved in the planning and testing 10 - 12 years old anyway whoever you look at it, it looks like something a kid would do and just take a chance on it.
Please take your negativity elsewhere. It wasn't that they underestimated the currents, it's that the seabed was uneven as clearly stated in a recent RNS. Phase 1 A was always experimental. They're trialling different technologies to see which will work most effectively for future developments (of which they have a large pipeline). You better believe there must have been issues with the very first wind turbine. Atlantis is at the forefront of a new global industry for which there will eventually be demand. If you can't handle waiting, then you shouldn't be investing in greenfield development companies
is easily achievable here possibly by end of this year as well. Even the brain dead should see the light when it hits 35p. I wouldn't even take these shares in a free gift.
I had this as a speculative share with a few other alt energy companies. ARL has declined far worse than any other in my portfolio. None are back in profit yet but ITM seems to be hopeful at the moment. I'm currently 40% down on my original purchase - fortunately I only had a few k in there but got fed up with the price dropping 1p seemingly every day. I will keep an eye on this because I think tidal has to have a place in the future of sustainable energy but looks many months away from making good on its promise. Any, more experienced, investor on here to tell me I'm wrong or point me in the direction of other alt energy shares to be aware off?
"Atlantis will seek to raise up to £5 million in total through Abundance" @ 8% per semi annual? Not a bad return & guaranteed by ARL. I presume this is a "Good thing" but £5 million does not seem an awful lot given the cost of projects. Interested in more knowledgeable comments. Thanks
Genuine should read getting
Should surely be genuine news on the turbines going back in any day.
Go to the Atlantis twitter page for a link to an Investors Champion article on 26.5.17 - great summary of what this company is all about. Good prospects here in my view.

Results seem upbeat to me. The swing back to loss is obviously enhanced because of the 2015 MCT acquisition. The big thing I took from these results is diversify diversify diversify. France & Asia are going to be a large markets for these guys. Potentially not looking promising for upcoming CfD round however. Now the funding's out of the way, it's going to be at least 12-13 month until they look to shareholders and increasing revenues should push this time frame further. All in on this for a medium - long term hold. They're doing all the right things and every year they continue to exist, costs lower and the technology becomes more feasible on a global scale.
