Well, to correct myself it does say that ‘pro forms cash’ is after allowing for the disposal but I assume £150m is committed in some way other what’s the meaning of the reference to an average monthly balance of £100m?
I wish people would stop referring to the £250m as if we will have this in the bank. That was a snapshot figure as at 31st December, before completion of the transactions on 3rd January. That’s why they give an estimated month end figure of £100m cash, so as to give a more realistic estimate of cash in the bank going forward. So, £100m cash and roughly 111m shares, so about 90p a share. All imo and DYOR etc.
To be frank, I don’t think the history of the company is particularly relevant if it is basically a shell being used as a special purpose vehicle for the development, which is what it sounds like to me. What is more relevant, in my opinion, is whether it’s backers can raise the cash.
Let’s hope so. Maybe they dropped the trading update for that reason, i.e., in anticipation of it being in by then. Nothing to stop them updating re post period end developments at the same time as releasing the results. Not long to wait to find out. Noticing slightly more interest in this share lately but still very much off the radar given the potential.
The only reason this has not already re rated is that we have an II selling unfortunately, but once they are done, or even take a break, this will move up significantly imo. It’s not the fundamentals that are holding it back.
RE: Another 2.2million shares off loaded.09 Jan 2020 11:47
At least we have some big buyers out there too - we have a stalemate between buyers and sellers hence a pretty stagnant share price. No point buying back shares at the moment, as the seller (probably Aberdeen) will just sell into the buys. However, notwithstanding misgivings about being a single mine company, the fundamentals here are undeniably great and, at some point, the big selling will stop and the SP will rocket. Trouble is, as you say, nobody knows when. However, a good set of Q4 results might, just might, produce enough of a boost to make the seller think again. After all, if you think about it, all Aberdeen needs to do to make more money on the rest of its holding is to stop selling now. If it must sell, it surely makes sense to stop for a while, allow the SP to rise, and then recommence measured selling but at a higher level.
I am not sure completion of the due diligence will be as late as you think Warren. Just three weeks ago Keith was interviewed and said he expected that to happen ‘in the very short term’ and ‘early in the New Year’ so I am banking on some time this month. We are also at what looks to me like a long term support level for this share, so I have just topped up accordingly. Fingers crossed that the tumbleweed will soon stop tumbling and start putting down some firm roots! This is going to be big, it’s just a matter of when imo.
Yes, both the 20 and 50 day simple moving averages have broken through the 200 day MA and the SP is holding well above that level and ticking up on every buy. A few more buys should see a significant move up imo but please DYOR.
To be fair, I see David Budd did do an interview with Proactive Investors at the beginning of this month, as a follow up to CE marking of the test for vulnerability to antibiotic related hearing loss in babies. I had missed it but it’s worth a listen. The focus was more on the background, technicals and health benefits, but there were also some useful comments on the market opportunities for the test. The immediate focus is obviously on Europe, which the CE marking facilitates, but he says that they will probably seek a partner/investor to access the US market. In reality, of course, the whole world is a potential market for this test. It’s a very exciting development for GDR imo.
RE: ii's gobbling these up on the cheap.20 Dec 2019 20:15
Probably got a chunk from Majedie Asset Management who were reducing their stake (RNS. 24/10/19) but from the trades it certainly looks like IIs and HNW individuals have been hoovering up cheap/loose PI shares for months!
