Hi All I have come back into this after getting seriously hit with Bellzone Mining - losing close to £50,000 of my investment pot - I am taking a cautious approach so only holding just over 25000 shares average 60p. Have no real experience but did very well over a few years picking the right shares.....until Bellzone!!!! Its difficult to read all of your threads as you seem to know each other quite well but looking for an honest opinion - will this one end up the same as Bellzone or will it have some legs..eventually??
Legs. Long, beautiful, legs!
Sorry to hear you got caught in BZM
putting the world market/US elections/Covid aside
pre 2020. poor management, strategy, execution, beautiful brand.
early 2020 covid, new majority share holders and CEO. new strategy.
Present. strategy in place.build on demand not in excess, Deal with MercB for tech in exchange for total holding20%
plan to reduce debt due to covid and to extend others while reducing rates
latest RNS is a good understanding of where we are going.
personally. Once external factors and people get over the extra shares. This will climb to a lovely cloud
Guys I want to admit to something. Being on this board with each and everyone of you day and night, I've come to realise we all share the same human emotions, misjudgments, kindness and at times cruelty. I have also learnt more about the stock market as well as poetry, cooking (yes 3300 I mean you), English language and so much more. I have lost more money than you can imagine but being on this BB has soothed the pain and I 'd like to thank you all.

what about a nice little slice of a beautiful car brand
Mansion. it hasnt gone bust though. and the new deal is great.
all it takes to turn a company is a good plan good leaders and good backing.
and recovery isnt un heard of. so if your going to make exagerated clames like broke, based on history
then would you have said the same to apple in 97?
go reaserch it.
all it takes to turn a company is a good plan good leaders and good backing.
we have all 3 aswell as an aspired brand
if your not invested leave and take your comments else were. love a challenge but your adgenda and swings are pathetic.
advising anyone reading mansions posts to review his history of posts to understand the BB hostilities
Mercedes to buy 20% but nah it doesn’t look very good does it ??
Cretin be gone
The reasons I'm invested in AML are as follows;
Beautiful cars!
Lawrence Stroll is in at 50p and I'm working on the principal that he wants to make some money.
Toto Wolff is in at around 50p and he's a very astute investor.
Vettel is in at around 50p and I can't see him wanting to throw money down the drain.
Stroll is bringing in his wealthy friends with the latest investment and people with money want to make more money. They don't want to lose it!
They are raising £840m in bonds which mature in 2027 (I think?) to pay off the more expensive bonds that mature in 2022. Very sensible imo.
The reviews on the DBX have been great with the exception of Clarkson (who let's face, it hates any SUV). Clarkson himself is an acquired taste!
MB buying in (up to 20%) over the next couple of years and providing AML with their EV and Hybrid tech is a game changer and negates the need for AML to spend tens of millions developing their own tech.
Amazing brand (James Bond for goodness sake)
The earliest I can get my hands on a new DBX in late February 2021 and I've worked in Automotive at a senior level for 30 years and know a lot of people which means they are selling well. When I ordered my McLaren 650S in 2015 I was able to get one within 10 days when the dealerships were quoting a 4 month lead time to everyone else! Not trying to show off but just making the point that DBX is clearly in demand.
Once the £840 bond issue has been fully subscribed/successful then this will start to move northwards but imo it will be next year before we see a SP in 3 figures.

PS: For Mansion02
Constantly referring back to historic performance when the management has completely changed and new money/investment is involved has no relevance on the future performance of the business or the SP so I can only summise that you're shorting this stock and want the SP to go south.
Good luck with that!
DavidHos, that’s a fair assessment.
I forgot the coup that is having TM as CEO!
Mansion02 - “To understand any business would require the most fundamental evaluation of its past performance, including that of present.”
Mansion02 - “It’s been bust on 7 occasions”
@Mansion02 – OK, I’ll bite…
I believe 4 of the occasions AML went bust were before the start of WWII and 2 were in the 70s.
Can you fill me in on when was the last time the company went bust?
Past performance includes the fact it took AML over 70 years to build it’s first 10,000 cars.
Present performance includes a target to produce 10,000 cars in a single year.
Apologies, but I fail to understand how the current AML era, with two state of the art factories, is comparable to old AML era where people were allowed to smoke on the production line?
Cheers, Paul. :)
@Mansion
Previous data is fundimental to understand hwo and where they are. it does not predict the future IF the direction is altered via a new change. this is exactly what has happened. you can understand a business and by doing such you will see their direction plans strategy operating costs measurables ect ect i can go on and on. however. the moment that is stopped and changed. it becomes redunant, instead you have something to measure against but not measure with..
this is our stuation. the direction was stopped and changed. new strategy new plans board ect. comparable now vs last year is not the same situation. so now you have to used facts and what we know about the future and that is the RNS. the tech part alone is a huge cost saving. that alone removes a large part os spending meaning it is already a different direction to previous years.
its looking fantastic. wich is why i have moved more capital into it. prior i wasnt going to buy more and reduce my holding, because i couldnt see them pulling a deal like this. but they did.
now i have been carefull not to include much about how much i invest or loose in my comments. because it might seem disheartening or unfair. better left out. but since you want to play the know it all.
I think i slipped up on a top up comment. however if you want to know. im in red as of this moment. however i havent sold so not in a loss. i dont have to convince myself anything. if i loose it. EH its gone. not worth complaining. thats IF i sell. am i confident that the rest of my portflio can sustain me. absolutly. will i have made back my loss in 12 months. Im confident i would have.
i dont have to convince myself anything because money isnt the issue wich is why my comments are always around the business.
My rocket power. is more than enough, its just sat in a hold. before you start guessing and making wild accusations.
"It’s seems that the recent news hasn’t actually made any difference to AML’s struggling SP." i dont see us sat at 50p anymore?
but even still if it goes back. you have shown that you dont understand the business or the plan. or youd also understand that the market was a reaction on the news. the changes will mirror the plan and are long term
Also since you ignored my post
1997 - apple days from bankrupcy.
changes were. supply chain, production advertsements and general strategy (not complete list but big hitters)
aml changes. supply chain, production line and tech and general strategy.
i see no issues
The main problem with AML is that the cars are not that nice. The designer needs to be sacked. You can argue all you like about restructuring and what Stroll is up to, but at the end of the day it's about selling product. The Bentley GT changed the fortunes of Bentley because it was a great car at the right time. If Stroll and the team he is putting together can put out great cars that look fantastic, all will be well with the AMP sp.
Each to their own I guess, I think they're gorgeous
When I was a youngster I used to have a W**** in the shower before I went out in case I got “tapped up” just so I could last longer.
Now if I had a W**** in the shower before I went out I would end up 4kin staying in! Ha ha
The question is, do you think they are gorgeous, or do have you actually bought one. The first rule of any design is to have your potential customer front and centre of your mind. There is one car in the current line up that I think is the real deal.
MFGX You're opinion ONLY!
AML made some of the most beautiful cars in the world! The DBX just won 'Best-Designed Car of the year' for goodness sake!
MFGX, perhaps your opinion on the designs of the Bentayga and Cullinan and why these sell. Certainly isn't their looks. But then again, it's all subjective.
In the market for a Vanquish (second hand so not much help bar exposure lol) currently - I don't think I will ever buy new though however much I like a car, just too much depreciation in it and I am a fan of my pennies
No Really, the sales speak for themselves.
MFGX appreciate your opinion
persnally love the look of the Aston, can also vouch for 2 neighbors, as one has a black DB9 on the drive the other a deep red hidden in the garage. not sure the model didnt get a full glimpse the other day
Whoops! Your opinion ONLY!!
What was I thinking?!?!
Rox you kill me man, that's so funny
