Great tits though.
We should all work hard to enrich the next generation and not expect to rely on handouts from those that do.
Have you not read English history 1066 to 1850 ?
It's not a new thing.
It has created generations of ever increasing wealth inequality and made people entitled and lazy. Not to mention brought out the worst in a lot of people.
Too true, thank goodness for the National Trust.
Inheritance tax is an unjust tax, it needs to be repealed I think. The best person to decide what happens to the assets they have accumulated in their lifetime is the person themselves . It has caused the demise of many great families, countless country houses, family businesses etc.
Let’s be honest, they are all utterly incompetent and inept and none of the parties are willing to take the necessary steps to sort out the nation’s finances (like putting an end to public sector final salary pensions, building enough houses, etc.).
At least Labour aren’t going to perpetuate a give away to those who already have more than enough and thereby making the problems worse, like abolishing inheritance tax.
Devilbhoy, sadly because total useless crap is going to be replaced by even more crap.
I have sleepless nights with the thought of Angela Rayner as next Labour leader or possible PM once Starmer moves over for her.
Cons are going early because Labour have zero plans. This will be exposed in the next 6 weeks.
I’m not saying the Cons are better, but Labour is a sure way to get the wheels taxed off you and have your garage inhabited with migrants. Just when Rwanda is starting to work.
sadly? you really think these utterly inept and corrupt ****wit conservatives deserve another term?
Yep we are all fck
Unions will be wanting their tuppence.
Not enough money to pay for their commitments/policies
Tax the oil industry more until no one will be able to drill as taxes are to high.
The last message left by labour at the treasury was nothing left all spent.
Vat added to private school fees wonder how schools will cope when they suddenly have a surge of applications from students whose parents can’t afford the 20% increase.
The green policy don’t expect tax cuts but tax rises.
Etc etc
Sadly yes labour will scream through and grab most of the freebee jobs (sorry, think they are called members of parliament). We therefore are all even more DOOMED than we currently are which is saying something!.
UK General Election called for July 4, six weeks away. Let’s see both party’ proposals on O&G windfall taxes. Do UK folks here think Labour might win?
I agree G-G-G.
Maybe mothball it until the unlikely event that someone offers us cash or a deal for it but definitively say that I3E will NOT be spending any more speculative money on it.
That would be enough to put a penny or two on the SP alone.
As for a UK office, isn't it a requirement to be listed in the UK ?
Agree they should bin off the Nth Sea. Complete waste of time and money.
UK office needs to start paying for itself, but how?
If they sold all of their North Sea assets and just
Kept their Canadian assets Would they still
need a big money eating U.K. office..?
Tend to agree as there is so much political uncertainty. Is the tax on O&G profits really 75% now? I would only support North Sea investment for i3 Energy if the windfall tax was scraped (will be brought back by Labour who are not climate change nutbar party) or if companies are walking way from income producing assets there (like Chevron announced) and Majid can acquire something for
Why would anyone in our management team be vaguely interested in the north sea? Fiscally it’s done for years to come. .
It's interesting as their state that the Belinda development has 5 million barrels of oil in place (IOP). In comparison, Majid believes that the much smaller than initially thought Serenity has 8-10 million barrels of oil in place (IOP). However, they believe it becomes less risk if they can get a hold of the Tain license which they will find out on later in the year.
Serica have no assets in the Tain / Serenity area - Bleo Holm is nearest asset with contract extension to end of 2024 from Repsol on the Blake/Ross. Dana were wise to relinquish Liberator area as to complex a geology, anyone's guess on how Serenity/Tain transpires.
eventually
Surely it will depend on the infrastructure question with the Bleo Holm. No existing infrastructure to leverage and this becomes a stranded asset. This isn;t necessarily an issue providing the resource is huge, and the local government is supportive, both of which don't apply to Serenity / Tain. Will be interesting to see what happens next. Imagine we'll get an idea in the next few months.
Got to be a tie up for Serenity Tain with Serica later this year imv.
And Kylle mentioned.
