I am hoping/waiting for 5.6p at which time half of my 500000 will be sold and the other half can sit as a free carry. Had many of these for such a long time now.

Couerdelion, a cash isa is almost instant cash if you want it to be, and decent rates are available for instance CBG at 4.6%. No risk as with shares. In our early 80s both of us want to avoid such stock market risk. And bear in mind we have a rabid labour govt who show they can change the rules at will. Then there is trumpy. Anyway it seems the share to cash isa issue does not apply to us both. But always it's obvious that as above this so-called govt can change rules to feed the unwashed at any time.

That bit about not being able to no longer able to transfer cash from a stock and shares ISA to a cash ISA is a huge blunder by the bank clerk. I originally thought these changes did not affect over 65s (both my wife and I) or so, so was not concerned about my share isa. Now it seems after April we cannot even move share isas anymore. Result, will move them before next April, imagine many might do this soon as they approach retirement. Labour do not have a clue about anything apart from funding the great unwashed and giving huge pay rises to ASLEF

The vote that got Burnham in was surely due to many voters i.e. tactiical voting - wanting starmer out. Labour think they are now popular and so on suddenly, conveniently forgetting the locals not long ago. So labour mps - like turkeys - will not vote for Xmas. Which means a huge danger of millband possibly being Chancellor. It would extend EPL and possibly lift it. At the time trippling road tax on diesel and petrol vehicles of course. All looking a bit bleak.

Or better still rates drop, not only good for my silly amount of tw shares jost of which are somewhat over crrent price, but also good for bonds which again I probably have too many. Not convinced though that the so-called inflation rate is not a con. Does not make sense considering the way prices are always jujmping up.
