The share price is totally in the control of the multitude of shorters, they can and do move the price around at will. They will not stop until something newswise occurs which gets other investors interested into buying (or of course selling). Only way to make some money is to follow the shorter activity and pick up some on their lows, and try and guess when to get out again as they autobot the price back up. This is different obviously from holding whatever quantity of shares for the longer term for when things get settled in which case the current share price can be ignored. imo
