You could well be right Mercman
Will be interesting how close to Stage 3 announcement we are...are they not quite there yet or are they formulating some extra interim updates to spice it up a bit !!?? MFU
I suppose se it is entirely possible that while the drilling is progressing unabated (indeed, it appears the AUS government is keen that the natural resource sector keeps going at all costs as its such a big part of the AUS economy) the paperwork side of things could be delayed by a day, week who knows. Office staff sent home, people in isolation, etc, etc. May just lengthen the dotting the i's and crossing the t's exercise.
More so, the WA economy which contains around 50% of all the mines in Australia. The WAG cannot afford a shutdown of its most vital of tax contributors and sources of direct and indirect employment

Apples hi,
But we are not a mine !!!! ( Yet )
ATB
Tom :-)
But NCM is...?
I did ask a question Friday :-
Does anyone know how many are there in the Havieron drilling crew ? They are rather isolated at their location and the camp and crew must be at very low numbers so this will reduce risk I would think.
As Laster said "Big difference between a mining operation and exploration drilling" maybe we are more safe out there in the location.??????
Apples but NCM are only exploration drilling at Hav NOT mining, you know what I mean !!!!! What are the chances that they shut down Hav Drilling as its not anywhere near the size of a mine operation. Sensible reply would be appreciated !
I am pretty sure GH said there were approx 90 on site a couple of Months ago, when discussing the advantages of all the facilities that would be available to the GGP crews in the Field at Scally etc
Condorlini hi, thanks for your reply but my question is how many are there in the Havieron DRILLING crew ? These is the ones actually on the site rigs, not talking about all the rest of the accommodation site / canteen etc etc. The reason why I ask is that if the drilling was stopped the whole site would be closed as there is no drilling no need for the site.
sorry these are !!!! and not talking about Scally at all, as this may be later, more concerned about Hav.
Tom - I don't know for certain but I would have thought a minimum of 3/4 men per rig x 8 rigs working on a 3 x 8 hr shift round the clock and then the support staff. 90 people in the camp seems about right to me.

Considering the isolation of the area, and Newcrest’s desire to get the job done ASAP, if anywhere has a chance of continued working Havieron is in a great position.
Realistically though, it only takes one critical supply chain elsewhere to breakdown, or one failure in medical screening and things could come to a standstill.
Personally I don’t see this as a problem. The gold isn’t going anywhere, and any temporary DUP in the SP gives a great opportunity for a top up in the new ISA year. The only ones to fret should be the traders, and any investors who find themselves with a pressing reason to sell.
Most of us can wIt a few more months if we have to. Patience will pay off!

Paddy & Max hi,
Great that's exactly what I was looking for and makes good sense, and I agree " if anywhere has a chance of continued working Havieron is in a great position"
Great job and thanks for your replies :-))))))

Paddy old mate

Paddy to reduce operating costs, I would imagine as they are so remote they would be working 12 hr shifts, as is normal on offshore working.
I work in the construction industry in the U.K. and we are still working on sites in areas far more populated than Havieron’s location. I imagine the messing and accomodation areas have been segregated. Anyway as Maximus10 says it’s not the end of the world if there is a brief shutdown and I think it was Chartbuster who alluded to the idea that there was a backlog at the labs anyway so news on the results front is still going to keep flowing for some time. GLA.
@Lenz - that would be fine if you were working offshore in the North Sea but I'm not sure I'd like to do a 12 hour stint in the 40 degree heat of the Australian desert. I guess they might have been doing shifts for so many days and then back to Telfer for R & R.
I suppose in theory the Havieron camp could now even self isolate further and be independent of Telfer if they had enough volunteers to work on a rotation basis from the Havieron camp. They would only need transport to bring in supplies and take out drill-cores, not sure I'd like to spend months out there but I guess it's possible.
@markjp - I guess there will be hold-ups in the labs but that might be mitigated by the fact that not so many exploration projects will keep running taking a little of the pressure off.
ATB - Paddy
Paddy I worked 12 hour shifts In Algeria and Indonesia , sometimes in 50 deg C and in other times 40 deg C with 95% humidity .. I don’t reckon Western Australia is any worse !
Very excited for the next update. Love this story and being on the journey. This will absolutely rocket in the current climate as investors will have their eyes all over gold!
Strange 25 depth on L2
Still showing -2.26% SP 4.325
Google search ggp share = the graph shows up 0.79% SP 4.46
On a land rig lIke this I do not know. You need mechanics and electricians on top of the drill crew. Then you need t be fed and the beds changed. It is not that simple. Then you need supplies coming in from Where. Logistacally is not easy as you lot think as you have never worked in remote locations like 500 miles offshore. If Quantas shut down flights. What then? They do not have private planes and who checks them in? Some of you people need a reallity check. I know this is one of the best companies going but eventually something in the supply chain will shut down. Be patient and wait for gold. It will not be as soon as you think.
