Germany’s main retail association, Handelsverband Deutschland, has been lobbying the German government, saying the exemption has encouraged a massive increase in small parcels entering the EU from online platforms like Shein and Temu, and that customs authorities lack the capacity to check all the products comply with EU rules.
Germany’s finance minister Christian Lindner “has signalled that Germany will support the abolition of the 150-euro duty-free limit at the European level,” the HDE told Reuters.
Germany’s finance ministry said it welcomed the fact the European Commission had put forward “proposals to adapt European customs law to the challenges of e-commerce,” referring to a broader reform plan that includes ending the duty-free limit.
It's certainly an interesting approach SPK.
Personally I think we will end up with a more tailored approach based on fair usage and customer value

A way forward on returns maybe. Sure others will be watching with interest.

I'm sure big Mike will have his say at the agm if he's not happy with the bonus rewards. Interesting times ahead ? Management retention might just be up to him one day soon?

"the historic bonus and LTIP opportunities have been combined and restructured but the total quantum of the awards is unchanged from what was permitted under the previous Directors' Remuneration Policy;
· the majority (60%) of awards will be settled in shares which vest in tranches over a three-year period, ensuring long term alignment of executives with the interests of shareholders;
· awards will be granted within the 10% in ten-year dilution limit operated by the Company across all share schemes with a reasonable amount of headroom remaining;
· the adoption of the Incentive Plan and the grant of awards under it are conditional on Shareholder approval; and
· the commercial assessments of the Independent Directors" via RNS.
No worries here - they have shareholders' interests at heart. Well that will make many open the vaults & trade gold for BOO shares. Many are waiting for a safe entry price no doubt hence volumes are in chuckle territory. The is a certain disconnect between BOD & PIs'. Corporates are not so bothered as funds are book bound.

Major European markets traded mixed on Thursday's premarket as investors awaited the latest batch of preliminary business activity and manufacturing sector data from Germany, the United Kingdom and the Eurozone in May.
Furthermore, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has called a national election for July 4, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding the timing of the election.
At 8:08 am CET, the German DAX lost 0.18% and the CAC 40 declined by 0.16%. On the other hand, the FTSE 100 gained 0.06% and the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 added 0.19%. Two minutes later, on the currency front, the euro and the British pound were flat against the dollar, selling for $1.08240 and $1.27242.

One to be aware of, posts a wamp and the sp decimated.

Offence at every post ???
Another Pinocchio 🤥 Tradey moment trying to stretch the reality as ever.
Spidey is that really all you have to do with your life.
Why do you pointless trolls feel the need to take offence at every single post
Hi Ableton, good sensible post. Fraser’s has bought 23% of the company and we are still at the 34p level how can that be?
Hi Jeremy - From the recent price swings (October - December 2023), price is currently sitting around the fair value level therefore IMO price isn't depressed & the 33 level is still being heavily defended & has been since September 2022. Professional shorter term swing traders wont buy @ the current level (34.58).
10% of volume today is algo trades hence the low volume and depressed price.
Looking like the lowest ever volume today

@Bidinvestor they are ex Arcadia and and dixons, after running those company to the ground they have been appointed in Boohoo. We wore told at a time they will bring value, but they didn't did they? Just as the waste of money in Levison enquiry. The board has no clue to be honest.
Kamani turned out to be a frog, replace them all can't do worse than this lot.
Quakerjon, isn't the more appropriate question how much we'd be paying in rent if we hadn't bought it
I'd guess upward of £5m per year
Vanity project??
Like buying all those brands
"we will show how to do retail"
Meanwhile Rome burns, sp crashes and tradey bleats
Debenhams doing okay tho
Spending all that money for that building in London was a massive mistake - would be interesting to see its valuation - if it has gone up in value significantly.

I’m in Asos SCB. Yes…. Currently boohoo and Asos are “Tax-ing” towards the runway imo.
You need to keep up, CWWX. Coasty is the one who resorts to the alcoholism accusations against everyone, not Trading4good (although he has once or twice too, when backing up his lapdog). And your posting history is chock full of you laying into others.

Who the trolls said had given up buying.
Strange friend Hexam has nothing to say about that one either
If BOO was a sandbag in your hot air balloon basket , it would be the first dead weight thrown out to get some lift.
Volume needs to be +11M per day for the SP to be moving upward. Looks like 34p for the next two weeks or until the last RNS has been forgotten. At least the banter continues hopelessly in vain that a better day will come - just look at M&S, profits up & debt reducing to £1.26B. Another 10 years & the debt will vanish.
I don't see anyone loading up here with so many better stocks to lose money on around. BOO still good for a pension pot as your unlikely to loose at 34p. In 20 years it could be Saladin's pot of gold.

The annual inflation in the United Kingdom clocked in at 2.3% in April, the Office for National Statistics announced in its report on Wednesday. The figure came in a bit higher than analysts expected but lower than March's 3.2% reading. Month on month, consumer prices rose 0.3%.
The Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) grew 3.0% in the reported month, year over year, while the reading saw a 0.5% increase compared to March. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) excluding food, energy, alcohol and tobacco jumped 3.9% on an annual level and decreased 0.8% on a monthly basis.
"Falling gas and electricity prices resulted in the largest downward contributions to the monthly change in both CPIH and CPI annual rates, while the largest, partially offsetting, upward contribution came from motor fuels, with prices rising this year but falling a year ago," it was written in the report.

European stocks are set to open mostly higher on Wednesday as markets continue to fluctuate due to concerns about inflation and interest rates.
Today, investors in the UK will closely watch the latest inflation figures. Economists predict a significant drop in the April data driven by lower household energy costs.
The DAX and the CAC 40 were unchanged at 7:53 am CET, while the FTSE 100 increased by 0.14%. A minute later, the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 increased by 0.18%.
On the currency front, the euro and the British pound were flat against the dollar at 7:54 a.m. CET, selling for $1.08559 and $1.27116, respectively.

Aka
Move on.
You didn't read the rns properly, which you admit
Learn from your mistakes
As always boasty, your are in a world of your own.
These shares have gone to whom? Sanction by themselves, for failure down to thems
How much nett profit has the company made?
Sam - what you need to understand is that big investors don't think like tin pot investors such as yourself.
The large holders will be happy that management are taking bonus in share options - they won't be getting their nickers in a twist over this.
Share options and share incentives drive staff - it's as simple as that.
Management here are heavily weighted to make this succeed and reach a high share price.
Also all the genuine shareholders here that have been irritated by yesterdays rns will soon forget when they start tp see the sp rise - private shareholders have short memories.
Just off to do a bit more packing now ready for haiti... Hang on... Barbados actually.

I think it's more a case that the sp is held in a range that FRasers want to buy at and shorts benefit
So Frasers are buying the shorters shares back through the UT thus suppressing the SP….
It's simple Jeremy
Frasers
Qube big 0.10% reduction yesterday….all done through the UT as there weren’t enough shares traded through the normal day…so shorts have reduced by 1.3% in the last 4 trading sessions and the SP has dropped 2.3%….work that one out someone please!

I may not have read the last paragraph of the RNS.
It seems strange to issue new shares when the EBT already owns nearly 5% of the share capital.
Bit back to the original point
Dilution galore and award of nil-cost shares to the board. The shareholder rinseathon continues.
Where is your justification for this complete nonsense
Hook, line, sinker
Or should it be stinker, however those in receipt of the shares won't give a monkeys
Laughing all the way to the bank
And laughing cos there are those who no matter what they do still believe
Blimey, are you ill or something?
You've been exposed as being a complete liar on this topic, and you have the gall to pretend that it didn't happen. Amazing.
RNS statement says "New Ordinary Shares". Nowhere does it say they're taking said shares from the EBT. It says... yes, you guessed it... NEW SHARES. Ergo, dilution (galore) whenever it occurs.
The RNS also goes on to say "Following admission of the New Ordinary Shares, the total number of ordinary shares and voting rights in the Company will be 1,269,084,436. The Company does not hold any shares in treasury. The above figure may be used by shareholders in the Company as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the share capital of the Company under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
What an oddity.
Dilution galore and award of nil-cost shares to the board. The shareholder rinseathon continues.

On the plus side the company hasn’t gone bust. Yes not ideal to just provide shares willy nilly but these can’t be monetised until next May.
I think boohoo do this to keep the bod morale up. We are complaining about Jl but what about Kane? She’s hardly showcasing what her contributions are.
I have no objection to management getting rewarded and proof will be in the pudding soon. They have a job to turn this company and send the market cap back into the billions otherwise receiving shares means nothing.
I am a lth and have been for nearly 4 years. For me I know this sp will reward but just need to stick it out. I’m sure MA only cares about quadrupling or more his money and he will get it.
This awarding of poor performance is truly shocking. Time Mr Ashley took matters into his own hands I feel.
