US Treasury yields getting razor thin - income from interest rates getting tighter and tighter each quarter at one end, and loan loss provisions growing larger at the other
No more like a mountain range more like a steep sided cliff.
How far will it drop?
It's taken a massive hit, anyone know why?
Back to April levels .... BNC is a leveraged play on the IBEX .... oversold because of ****** Johnson Being a plonker trying to hide his poor UK performance and opening his gob.
What starts with Sh and rhyme with Mite.
Oh well there goes my pension fund.
I'll now need to work until I'm 71!
You all take care and be safe.
Fatty.
Only One Way IMO ...
They should have suspended the div - I dont see the point of a scrip dividend - always a bad idea IMO ..

Is it being 'shorted'?
well with 16.6 billion shares you will need an ocean liner full of shares to have any real effect shorting it...it is a bit of a behemoth ..so I would discard that
Banks are all a bit up and down..i would imagine due to some buyers thinking the worse is over and sellers realising that maybe it isnt ...BNC of course operate in many major markets so global news is tesing the buyers and sellers .....buyers I think are just holding for short term profits at the moment.... the trading range of the SP is reasonably narrow at the moment ..
More US stimulus and less covid will boost the SP ...the opposite will weaken it as the fear is there will be more loan write offs ..
Brazil a bit worrying along with South America in general ...economies and covid effect and currency exchanges to the euro
Euro strengthening against the Dollar ..so Dollar profits in the US translate to fewer euros on the Euro balance sheet
Any sensible person know why this share is going up and down like a mountain range?
Is it being 'shorted'?
Don't know wether to but or sell !
Airbus is already an example. You have to "opt in" if you want divs. Many countries have withholding taxes on divs making it uneconomical to hold them for just for divs. That is what I mean by country specific.
Hi Where did you get the info about future dividend policy being country specific?
The future of dividend policy will be country specific. Dont expect profits from brazil to be paid to uk shareholders and visaversa. If you want to hold santander shares in another country expect a tax or regulatory paperwork hurdles. Prefer the tax option personally.
It's about time the bank looked seriously into directors remuneration. The holdings of some are a disgrace. No one is worth the packages shown. Its about time it was scaled back and profits given back to shareholders before directors. It certainly doesnt help the share price.

"I wonder where all the billions of profit will go? "
I think the priority is fairly obvious right now ...supporting businesses and building up a pile of cash to cover loan defaults
Whilst a €1 billion may seem a lot to you and me , when you are lending hundreds of millions to each individual big business project eg in oil, gas, infrastructure, airport extension or whatever ...€1 billion soon becomes very little if indeed you end up having to write it off as a result of bankrupcy or administration.
The world economy is like a piece of bamboo right now and is being bent to test its ability to test its strain cababilitiy
It will either be able to take the strain and flex back or, snap ....very difficult few months ahead to see what indeed happens
The financial system is being tested by every sector all at the same time ....can it take the strain ??
If you really think they are "crappy " ..best to sell out now and move on ....
Just found out that Crappo Santander will not pay a dividend until 2021 at the earliest. This is on top of reducing
the interest rates paid to the accounts of it's loyal customers as well as sacking thousands of BNC employees
Santander earns €6,515 million in attributable profit in 2019
I wonder where all the billions of profit will go?
Everything out there in the big wide world is going against them unfortunately, and isnt likely to change any time soon.
One share to have sold a while ago and just sit on the sidelines ...their loan losses provisions would be interesting to know and of course the situation with regards mortgages is somewhat precarious, at present, too.
Hopefully the whole situation will start to improve in the second half of the year , but it will be gradual ....
I wonder how their Brazilian business is doing, at the moment
The Banco share seems as though it will be £1.50 before long.
Some banking shares are bad Santander is awful.
My mistake was to buy them in the first place, I would probably have been better of if I put a bet on the horses!
I Know BNC have cancelled the dividend for November 2020 but can anyone tell me if we will receive the dividend for May this year?
Still a long way to go before the Banco levels off, still a lot of turbulence out there ergo 'No Fly USA'!
I reckon it'll reach £1.50 in the next 2 weeks, so hold onto yer cash until then.
Screaming BUY at these prices.
Anybody remember the good old abbey national days ? This gang came along and completely ruined it
