Have had these since day one. In the last ten years appear solely a vehicle to buy pre divi, extract the divi and resell.
It's about time the bank looked seriously into directors remuneration. The holdings of some are a disgrace. No one is worth the packages shown. Its about time it was scaled back and profits given back to shareholders before directors. It certainly doesnt help the share price.
Could it be this?

'Santander has taken a €1.5bn writedown on the value of its UK business, blaming new regulations and the expected economic fallout from Brexit.'
Er Hello, don't we see this every time a dividend is due. Look forward to it falling again just after appropriate date.
The clue is in the handle! But yes you are right, immediately ex dividend. Sadly not taken my own advice.
Are you kidding BIGfatty. This happens every time there's a divi payout. The trick is to sell at the very last moment to make sure you get the divi. Any extraneous factors merely distort it more. The share price has little regard to the actual worth of the company and how it's doing.
Couldn't be the carpetbaggers baling out having stayed long enough to pick up the divi could it?
Not looking good advice now! But hey, it'll probably take a dive again.
tonyj. There is no logic to the SP on Santander. You'll know if you watched it over the years! The trading on what appears to be a daily merrygoround is all the SP reflects.
arsenal58, it doesn't matter what it was six months ago, if like me and so many others are long term investors in BNC and paid £5.58 some years ago. The share price is not the value of this company, it rises or falls on whims of large scale so called 'investors'. What makes it all the more galling is that it is very evident that these parasites buy in before the divi, the price goes up, get the divi, and sell before price goes back down. The share price movements speak for themselves. However like all long term investors I am pleased that after so many years the SP is at least going in the right direction.
You go away for a week and after the freeloaders have bought in goes up to pick up the divi, price gone up, then sell. So it always was.
A rising sp and upcoming ex-divi.......... couldn't be a coincidence could it?
Only the fees to concern us soon on 123 account? Unless your interest payments exceed £1,000 it should go tax free after April.
Isn't it about time the Company made some comment on the hit we as small investors are taking. There has to be some real explanation as to why a company which in profit terms is doing so well and yet week after week we see the sp drop further. And no, the Euro exchange remains fairly stable!
What a time to announce that the monthly charge on the 123 account is to be increased by 150% to £5 per month, after the company made such effort to capture more current accounts. Do the analysts believe that the fickle of us out there might just go elsewhere? How long before the 3% on balances up to £20,000 is reduced/withdrawn?
14.5m shares bought at 13.31!
Sorry 3300, don't remember time, but late on I think. Numbers suggest institution.
That trade Friday of buying 18 million must be some sort of indicator?
Sadly, 3300 although a long time holder, I bought in last lot at £5.58, so might as well stick with it.
3300. Is that a computer generated comment !!!!!
