If the Govt has loaned machinery to manufacturers to make LFT's under the original 'consortium' deal then is it possible they wouldn't put this work out to open tender?
I know it seems a really stupid question and point to raise at this point but surely you can't just tell a manufacturer to go ahead and produce any old LFT that takes your fancy without it going through the production work ups etc.
With PD missing and Medusa ready for the hunt, it looks like positive news for Avacta.
Great spot Ophidian, I think this bodes well for Avacta.
Some of that is not tripe.
HomTanks thats the understatement of the year!
@vegas good point.
Wonder of these criteria apply to Deepverge breath tests which might replace LFD in multi day scenarios eg hospital staff, shops, buses etc
A transition from Innova requires legislation to protect the government from liability. Going forward performance in use will select the best and as long as AffiDX can prove itself there will be lots of LFTs that can be added to the brand in the coming months!
So if criteria officially changed today, ODX claimed other day that the choice of test is imminent, does that mean any test / contract chosen now is likely to be a short term 3-6 month solution, in other words, don't all fall in to a panic if some dodgy Chinese test Is selected for manufacture, our time will come.
Does seem like 2 forces are at work in the dhsc, one wants the status quo and keep the Chinese tests incoming, the other side recognises there are UK developed tests that are far superior but hampered by unsuitable validation processes, and have so far managed to delay the 'sovereign' test being selected until the best one passes. Hopefully avacta, but at this point anything UK produced is an improvement.
It means the Secretary of State can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
Reading the full legislation first link on the government guidelines the below comes up,
Exemptions for coronavirus test devices
39A.—(1) Regulation 34A does not apply where, in circumstances which give rise to a need to protect the public from a risk of serious harm to health, the Secretary of State—
(a)has decided to permit, where appropriate for a specified period, the placing on the market or putting into service of a particular coronavirus test device or coronavirus test devices of a particular class or description that has not been approved under regulation 38A(5); and
(b)has not withdrawn that permission.
(2) The Secretary of State may give permission under paragraph (1) subject to such conditions as are set out in a protocol published by the Secretary of State.
(3) If the Secretary of State publishes a protocol for the purpose of paragraph (2), the protocol must specify the period of time for which it has effect.
(4) The Secretary of State may withdraw or amend a protocol published under paragraph (2).”.
Not sure if that means the government can continue using tests that don’t pass the approvals for only a certain period of time?
Gla
Not deramping or pragmatic, just the usual boring post
BTW you forgot to cross ramp
Certainly looks like a clear run for AffiDX now and well done to all the agitators who have brought this about. They have been effective where AS could not really raise his voice but only allude. I did notice the PD approval had gone before reading comments, it was my bone of contention. Good job done on this BB.
And that’s the point. There are 425 approved tests listed on the government website. AVCT isn’t one of them.
I sold most of mine today. It was the last of the last, last chances. I thought we’d have an RNS today but hey ho. Hopefully Monday.
The reason I reduced is simple. The next RNS has to deliver a revenue potential that justifies a £300m Mcap!
If it does happy days I have a few. If it doesn’t and tanks or news is underwhelming with more promises of tomorrow I have some cash to average back in or invest elsewhere.
I am not knocking AVCT we are where we are but I have adjusted my leverage to what I think is more responsible given the run of news and market expectations as per this current mcap.
Likewise I hope to be averaging up on a blockbuster RNS!
Some cash gives one options either way atm as my confidence here has been diluted by the turn of events outside the business and delays getting a product to market.
No idea if that POV fits deramping or being pragmatic!
Good luck with your investments

Apologies scratch that just seen it’s working days
I am not patient enough for jigsaw puzzles…however if the 20 day turnaround is calendar (not working) days then does this not take us right up to August 16th? So an application submitted yesterday could have approval on that date?
well done @sleepydave !
Ophidian
Have a good trip and a great time D! ATB
Sitting in seat 23B and about to fly to France. No tests taken as double- jabbed is enough for going to France.
The tests begin on the way home in 19 days, but I guess they’ll be other than affidx.
Wyndrum, keep posting. I’m sure plenty appreciate your thoughts, musings and views.
Unlike you, these swings don't bother me. You are psychologically invested in this share, to the extent you constantly require your bias to be confirmed on here, either by agreeing with people with the same view as you, or by arguing with people who don't. Maybe you need to take some time off the screen and relax. Its not that deep.
Very nice spot this morning Ophidian.
And I am not sure that the full import of it has yet sunk in on the Board.
To be clear up till yesterday the government procedure for approving tests for sale to the UK market required consideration to be given as to whether or not the test had passed or Porton Down or not.
Now this requirement has gone (as from yesterday)
Why is this encouraging (apart from the obvious).
imo Common Sense in the Civil Service can eventually prevail.
There is an inferred acknowledgement that Porton Down can no longer be seen as the ultimate arbiter.
Guess who's voices are again being listened to.
All you have done for over a year is post on this board daily and argue with people to serve your own confirmation bias. You literally have nothing better to do hence I ask if you have a job, because you certainly have a lot of time.
Ha! Brilliant! You really are a hopelessly paranoid fool m’lud. That’s what you’d do isn’t it? If you were going to have multiple accounts you’d join at the same time. Get a grip on reality and actually read my posts, I’ve posted research, I’ve been supportive (and critical when warranted) for over a year. Anyway, I don’t care what you think so pop your tin foil hat back on and keep posting your old research, pathetic guessing games and ‘inside knowledge’…
PS got an update on the timeline? We’re almost at the anniversary of your fantastic educated guess.
serious q NDN- are you furloughed? How do you have so much time to post here? Unemployed?
They MUST be doing things behind the scenes, whether it be refining contracts or gaining large sample sizes. All we can do is sit patiently. They WILL NOT be doing jack **** IMO. Hold tight and keep researching sunseekers!
