BIL, I am not disputing or complaining that this BB is positive towards AVCT, of course it is, that's perfectly understandable and self evident. But not all companies go from strength to strength. (Look at RMS unfortunately).
And I look at this BB to discuss the pros and the potential pitfalls, and again its instructive, when looking at the language people use to define me, If I have serious reservations about an aspect of AVCT's potential then I am simply a deramper, cut & dried, shouldn't post on this board and should go away. if it is "balanced", its not really, its "subtle" deramping
Even when I am out and out positive, I have simply bought in and trying to influence the SP to suit my short term plans.
Peoples fixed prejudice's and bias's are exactly the reason why I find TA informative and helpful
Its
@cinders, you’re wasting your time. Wynbore has spent ages plaguing the AVCT board ranting about TA whilst all the time trading the nuts off it. His posts are a not so subtle attempt to manipulate others. Just give up - madness lies ahead for you, it's like trying to debate with a tub of lard.
The cynic in me very much goes along with PL - 10.24 am. But the logic (or illogic) in the mess the UK government seems to be getting into is that goodwill toward it amongst UK diagnostic businesses will be so low they will sell all they can produce elsewhere. Following this argument production capacity might never become sufficient to adequately replace Innova (or cheap Innova clones) with affimer based "sovereign LFDs". Other than at a hefty pemium? The again the cynic in me thinks they prefer the brown envelope approach to paying any sort of premium.
Maybe it's on Porpoise PL?
DG, I’m heart broken, validation from you is all I’ve ever wanted in life. Good to see you recognise that the same old boring tedious sea lion debate happens every day though. Dull isn’t it? Pretty sure the board would be better without it clogging up every half decent thread. Almost like it’s on purpose. Anyway, the main part of my post was discussing something more interesting than the sea lion, best not perpetuate it…
@Wyndrum - you're wasting your time. Cindercone is an old hand. He was banned in May 2019 after being stupid enough to post under multiple Avatars - then being more stupid and confusing which one he was using to answer people - then compounding that stupidity by admitting he was posting under multiple avatars and trying to justify it. He was rightly banned - but seems to have managed to reincarnate this ID since Feb this year.
He spent ages plaguing the BMN board ranting about TA whilst all the time trading the nuts off it. His posts are a not so subtle attempt to manipulate others. Just give up - madness lies ahead for you, it's like trying to debate with a tub of lard.
PL, you know, I was pondering posting this – well something very similar – just 5 mins ago, but decided it could have the opposite effect:
'PL, just gave you a Rec for sticking to Positive Sentiment and not getting drawn into a subject you'd left behind'.
I mean it too. What a shame you let us down.
I dedicate this ruined thread to DG, who pondered how I know that the sea lion is at it again. Multiple posts starting with wynbore… hmmm I wonder.
Anyway, scaredy, I can’t see how it could be anything else. They still need LFDs and despite the misuse they’ll be of some benefit. The FDA investigation will have caused a fair bit of panic I’d imagine. The scandal here was when they were rebadged them, but that’s in the face of no better alternative. There is a better alternative now in AffiDx but we have the farce that PD won’t accept it. Even if they finally realise that the best test is about to head to Europe and decide they want it, I can’t see how they can scale fast enough - unless those NDAs are water tight, the U.K. RTC are firing them out and #InColinWeTrust has playing a blinder in pretending they’re not busy.
Cinders, Are all "serious" investors millionaires then? And when you say No one who uses TA is amillionaire, how do you know that very, very sweeping statement is true? (If a couple of my plays come off in the next few weeks I will be millionaire so that would completely invalidate what you have just stated. Would it change your view?)
And what is a serious Investor? How do you class or define that?
Who said using TA was a shortcut? Shortcut from where to where?
Governments don’t admit to being wrong so would expect some delay to any new contracts being entered into to allow run off and ‘face saving’. In any event I don’t view the UK as our principle market given previous comments by AS.
Wyn - by its nature, a board like this will be predominantly supportive of the company. Me included.
By your own rules, you switch between supporting and subtly downgrading your assessment in line with the SP sentiment. You either support (hold) or reject (sell).
Yes Doze I am a trader but I am not sure why you use the term "confessed"?
Its not traders that prey on peoples emotions, Traders react to the price action and are just trying to buy and sell on a more frequent basis than typically LTH's , and make money. (Traders don't alter the SP, unless I guess if they are very large shareholders)
And be careful when you say who's preying on peoples emotions. This board is almost exclusively pro AVCT (as you would expect), however, that leads to many posters here ramping the stock and you could equally say, buy promising untold riches if you buy this stock, that it is inducing other people to top up or invest, on nothing but optimistic forecasts.
Neut: I'm not sure AVCT is a buffet Stock presently. Its a small high risk, loss making company and with maybe a tech he would not understand. (given that was one of his mantras and as a result he stayed away from a lot of the tech stocks when they first came to market.)
@Wyndrum
All these TA traders must be millionaires. Fact is, none of them are. How many times you been to a casino and some jerk tells you they have a system? They actually believe it too. Only serious investors make serious money - there are no shortcuts.
@PL. That's exactly the compromise I'm expecting, 3 months extension with some wording to the effect of 'no more renewals after that'. Glad you said it, I was a bit afraid of being lynched!
Yes wyndrum, traders prey on peoples emotions. I find it difficult being a trader when I am an investor, you are a confessed trader.
I’d say the best way to win on the market is to use buffets advice, find good strong companies and invest in them to the point you will never sell them. Let the markets play their games, but overtime, if the company is a good company, run by competent CEO’s with a strong product, the returns will be good.
In relation to Avacta, AS is certainly transforming into a competent CEO, and afffimers are likely to be a successful product, for these reasons, I find it hard to omit Avacta out of this investing strategy and ignore the trading noise.
That’s why I wouldn’t be surprised to see an extension, say three months, whilst they transition to another rebadged misused test from chin-ah such as Healgen or Excalibur. They’d have to have confidence in the supply chain for a sovereign test. Not sure where Surescreen and the Toyota engineers are up to in the scale up, there’s TT to consider. We know ODX aren’t churning anything out. From our perspective, not sure how the GAD stockpile is looking, haven’t heard more on our TT to BBI and ABDX - both of whom aren’t impressed with the govt. It’s a desperate shame for British biotech and a shocking situation, but it looks like the EU is the best route to market.
I can vouch for that bcause I'm an expert at doing it! Even after the increase on Friday, I was still making a slight loss on Avacta. However, I think I'm finally forcing myself not to go into panic mode and sell at the wrong time!
Cinders, its exactly the reason TA can be so helpful because it reflects peoples emotional swings when they see the SP move.
That's why you will sometimes get MM, to prey on an expected reaction when the price is artificially moved.
Its long known that many Pi's buy at the top and sell at the bottom. Why do you think that is? (or maybe you don't think that?)
I think the most significant thing for the SP right now, is the 'battle royal' that will be playing out in the background between MHRA & UK govt re: Innova EUA extension. The ramifications of a 'NO' from MHRA are humungous for the govt. Think about it, overnight they would have to stop offering free tests, they'd have to instruct people to bin any unused tests they have at home, they'd have instruct businesses to stop using them. That's why MHRA needed this 'timely' FDA report.
Technical analysis is trading for dummies. Technology has democratised share trading so you have people treating it like a casino - that's why you see these wild daily swings.
That said though the same has happened so many times here and probabilities are that anyone who has the balls/luck/knowledge to trade this (not me) will make a few quid or gain a few extra shares
Cinder, do you follow TA? ( I ask because many "traders" do.)
You'd think Friday's RNS would be a warning not to trade this share, but no. The stupidity is breathtaking.
Agreed especially as the UK now going to be extending Freedom day by another 4 weeks!! Our test here can't come soon enough!!!
