Retirement of Non-Executive Director
Wynnstay, the agricultural and specialist retail group, announces the forthcoming retirement of non-executive vice-chairman, Edwin Edward Hughes. Having reached the Company's agreed retirement age, he will not be seeking re-election at the Company's Annual General Meeting on 15 March 2011 and accordingly, his appointment as a director of the Company will cease with immediate effect on that date.
Edwin's involvement with the business spans over 25 years to Wynnstay's origins as a farming co-operative. He was a founder director of the Company and, in 2002, became non-executive vice-chairman of the Company. The Directors of Wynnstay would like to place on record their thanks to Edwin for his significant support over many years and wish him well in his retirement.
The Board intends to appoint an additional director in the near future who will fulfil the role of senior independent non-executive director.
