Mr Rocket in particular has been very critical about the performance of Barclays in his experience. And I have described the uphill task I'm facing getting the SGZ options to which I am entitled.

But you might also be interested to hear about the latest outrageous ineptitude on the part of the Barclays empire. I have a Barclaycard. I hardly use it because I have another credit card with my own bank. So the average total monthly balance on the Barclaycard is of the order of two to three hundred pounds. Bear that figure in mind.

On the statement that I received just before Xmas, there was a single transaction - apparently undertaken in Australia - for £4,500. This was the first I had heard from Barclays about pretty damn plainly fraud. It was for me to find on my statement and then contact them. What's more, it was - supposedly - for surgery carried out in Melbourne. WTF!!!

Also on my statement was a totally legitimate transaction at our vets in Dumfriesshire. And yet Barclays "anti-fraud systems" did not flag up as in the least bit unusual the fact that within hours of being at the vets I was apparently recovering from surgery 10,000 miles away. Neither did it flag up as in the least bit unusual the fact that this one transaction was apparently for about 20 times the amount of my average monthly balance!!

Un-bloody-believable!!!

Yes those options would look attractive, IF you can ever substantiate your claim to them.

I STILL haven't got mine. And I gather from Barclays that I am not alone (well, considering the size of Barclays operation, I didn't think I'd be the only SGZ shareholder who deals through them). And Barclays may not be the culprit. According to them, SGZ's Registrars have still not sent the documentation across... over 12 months after the event.

Considering how I - like many others on here - have stood firm for SGZ through thin and thinner for over eight years, I think this is a pretty poor way to repay a LTH.

Yes, I too would be somewhat irritated if the company was announcing game-changing news and people on here were rabbiting on about Brexit or Strictly Come Dancing, but at times when we are totally becalmed I don't see the harm in people deviating on to other topics.

Hello R, I can say this because I am 70... I do sometimes wonder if you should lose the right to vote when you reach a certain age. I am quite bitter that those young people who had attained the voting age declared themselves overwhelmingly to support the ideal of European peace, harmony and co-operation, and their dreams and futures have been stuffed up by a lot of people who hanker for the days when Kenya was pronounced Keenya. I get especially angry when I hear the 'Old Soldier' line trotted out... "We fought Hitler to preserve our liberties". Well, what about the heroic resistance members in France, Holland, Denmark and all the other countries? They fought Hitler as well. And a lot of good Germans paid the price with their lives too. And, anyway, don't come the "WE fought Hitler". Unless you can prove that you are in your mid to late 90s, NO, YOU did NOT fight Hitler.

Indeed, R. I do wonder if everyone who voted for Brexit had any thought for these personal ways in which it would affect their lives. It will be some small stab of humiliation, surely, when arriving for our holidays to have to queue in the line designated for 'Aliens'.

I'd love to be in a position to exercise my 40p options.

As I've mentioned on here before, Barclays "can't find" my options. Despite raising my complaint to major status, they still can't.

Hello Samson, yes I can understand what you are saying. It also shades somewhat into something else which I've been thinking about for a while. The tight concentration of share ownership and the tenacity of LTHs, both huge and, like me, very small, in keeping hold of their shares. The conventional argument on here has always been that this is a positive benefit. I hope that this is so. The only slight concern I have is if "Mr Market" (as our friend Shylock used to describe "him") decides, "Oh well, there's not enough of these to be had to make it worthwhile, I might as well look to buy something else, somewhere else".

With regard to the website again, Mr Rocket, as you, TLC and others have so rightly said, the opportunity to tell the world in more glowing terms what is in progress is at present going begging. But also, as I pointed out, to not even be able to get the list of your own directors correct is just plain sloppy. Is it perhaps even skating on thin ice of legality? Please, please, SGZ, do not sell yourselves short. Most kids of 15 can devise and manage a professional-looking website these days. There must be one hanging about in Tyndrum.

I was browsing the other day. Two minor mistakes I noticed. On the Corporate Directory page neither Bill Styslinger nor Peter Hetherington are listed as Directors. And on the About Us page, where they are included, they are both mistakenly described as "Non-Executive Chairman". So, we are a company with three Chairmen!

OK, these are nit-picking details. But it does not make us look too professional, surely.

I almost missed it. Been away and, in fact, at one point thought I might not be coming back until tomorrow, But here I am, back from The Undead, specially for Halloween. Happy 27th, my friend.

Hello Baz (Mark 2), I may have got this wrong, but I thought the whole purpose of an RNS was to inform 'the market' of 'market sensitive' information immediately. Isn't this a regulatory requirement?

OK, the information is in the public domain, but that's on the NP website, which is probably not stored amongst most people's 'favourites'. So, those of us who do know the news - including NP employees and others who are in the know - could possibly stand accused of unfair trading, if indeed an RNS is postponed in the way you suggest.

Happy reading, indeed, R! I have given up and gone back to War and Peace. Little wonder these things take such time. It must be very sad to be the sort of legalistic bureaucrat to whom these things are meat and drink.

One thing I'd say is that I am quite surprised to see that someone has seen fit to engage in sustained selling (60,000 so far) since the time the RNS was released. I'm not sure quite how it can be interpreted as that bad. But each to their own.

Yep TLC and Eck, I think this must take the award for The Most Underwhelming RNS in the Whole History of the World.

At least we can now sleep easy in our beds, reassured that the one (!!!) missing share out of NLR's holding of 22 million plus has been found safe and well.
