I suppose it does help to some extent in raising the profile and, as you say, at least getting us to a higher plateau. Having at long, long last (almost) managed to conclude my options purchase it has left my carefully-garnered holding of 100,000 (my original target of 10m in old money) knocked into an odd looking 106,796. Yes, Candydog. I have to say I've never quite understood the concept of 'Taking Profit'. Up to a point, yes, but not entirely. Can't really appreciate why anyone would offload a holding of 80,000+ now (in one trade, who knows how many in aggregate?) when just a few more weeks could bring a much bigger return. Each to their own, I suppose, but it nonetheless bemuses me.

Ah, red! Phew! This is what we old timers can understand, praise the Lord. Back in our comfort blanket and thankful to be here. Bring on 25p!!

I think no-one on here ever disagreed with your belief in the potential for tourism, though maybe felt that you were somewhat putting the cart before the horse in promoting this ahead of the mine coming to fruition. And congratulations on your perseverance over the years.
I do agree with you, also, that it would be a tragedy for the long-suffering LTHs of this share if there were to be a successful bid at, say, £1. This would short-change us for the the years in which we have stayed loyal to the company.
BTW (and you may feel that this question should not be answered as it intrudes on your privacy) are you really a denizen of DG14? I am intrigued, because I am DG13 myself, as you may have picked up from previous correspondence on here.

Did you take part in the 2017 Rights Issue? It was participants in that who qualified for the Options. I did, but as long-suffering readers of my posts will know (a) It took about 18 months for Barclays to understand this simple fact (which was in black and white in SGZ's RNS announcing the Rights Issue), and then (b) Even when the Options at last appeared on my online account, they seemingly couldn't understand how they were to be paid for. Unbelievable.

After four lengthy phone calls to Barclays over three days, I have at last managed to pay for my 6796 Options at 40p. I am not holding my breath that these will appear in my holdings any time soon. On past experience with Barclays over - as you know - two whole years now, I foresee more fiasco even yet! Believe me, once they ARE safely tucked away, I am out of there! Honestly, it'd be better dealing with Del Boy than Barclays!

Yep, Morar, remember those days. After your post I dug out my first contract note as a matter of interest... £6.80 in today's money! It was only by steadfast effort - and going in hard on the 25p rights issue - that I got my average down to 52p. Good luck to us all.

£25!!! Eek!!! The euphoria which would surround that would be so great in our house that I might even do something rash, like splashing out on a Stannah stairlift. I haven't been so enthusiastic about my SGZ shares since I bought my first batch. But life in general seemed optimistic back then. Mr Chamberlain had just come back from Munich and everything seemed set fair.

In reply to Baz's enquiry, I haven't touched any of my shares today, and I won't be doing so for some considerable time ahead. As I said before, a sensible strategy might well be to trade and trade and trade again. But I feel a bit like a fully-rigged schooner at the Battle of Jutland, sailing serenely through the smoke and thunder. Do other LTHs take this same approach, or are you all hard at it, making money? Hi Baz, well for one thing, as I said, I was up so late I wouldn't have been involved in any excitement anyway. If I was sensible I'd have sold everything in the high 70s and be buying back from here on. But I'm not a trader (more fool me, I suppose). I've held these shares for so long it'd be like taking a puppy to the rescue centre when he became an old dog, LOL.

I think there must be some kind of problem with either Barclays software or possibly the colour settings on my laptop? When I am looking at my SGZ holding in my account the reassuring red symbol that has been there for as long as I can remember (at least 6 or 7 years) has mysteriously changed to blue. Should I worry about this? I have a local PC repair man who could possibly tell me.

Hi peryskop, options were issued to all shareholders who bought shares in the 2017 rights issue. But they wouldn't have been issued to someone just because they were an existing shareholder if they didn't take part in the rights issue. Hope this clarifies matters.

Oh Christ! I got up late this morning and Oh Horror! The civilised share we have owned, in many cases for several years, with a civilised friendly chat forum, has now become yet another Crash, Bang, Wallop victim of AIM. Soon this forum will become another one with venom, bile and blood being spilt between quite nasty posters.

Hi Glen, I did have a temporary problem clicking on Recommend a week or so ago. I'd click and nothing would happen. But it was very temporary and hasn't recurred. Not like the "few weeks" you describe. Regards.

Thanks R and Morar, it could well be II that I move to when this fiasco is at last resolved. I am still gobsmacked that Barclays have no idea how to deal with Options. For Goodness Sake, it's not as though SGZ's Options are the first and only Options ever to have appeared on the planet! And angry as well as gobsmacked. These Options are mine by right, not at the whim of bloody Barclays! Have a good weekend both of you, and everyone else too.

In view of the terrible experiences I've had with Barclays I shall be giving them the boot asap. But obviously I can't do this mid-dispute, but as soon as I have got my options safely paid for and tucked away I shall be dumping Barclays.

Who else would people on here recommend, may I ask? I remember somebody suggesting Hargreaves Lansdown in the past.

Hi R, as you remember I pursued the original business through their complaints procedure and, after the best part of a year (!!) eventually got a resolution and the options at last attached to my accounts. I thought we were home and dry. NOW neither their trading department nor their corporate actions department seemingly know how to convert these options into actual shares within my accounts. It is utterly unbelievable. I feel like we are operating in parallel universes. Regards, y

Hi Samson, that's interesting to read your experience. Because I have something similar. On my ISA account the number of Options from the the 2017 Rights Issue are credited, but there is a box saying they are "not eligible for ISA". Ugh? And even in my non-ISA investment account, as I described before, although they acknowledge that the Options are there, they can't apparently let me actually pay for them. This is bizarre. And also something that I will not let go of. Because if they deprive me of this opportunity to make a small profit on these Options I shall pursue this through the regulatory authorities until their name is mud (which I think it is already anyway).
