May I enter a plea for help? As has been well covered in this forum, it would appear that lots of us are still having problems getting the 2017 Options - to which we are entitled - credited to our share accounts. Time is running out before they expire - despite the fact that we have already paid for them! GeorgeZibbos reported last week that he, at least, has put the required funds into his account with Halifax, as have I with Barclays.
Others have said that they, too, have experienced the same problem, and this is just those of us in this forum. For all we know, there could be other small investors similarly banging their heads against the same brick wall.
George's tale is the same as mine, ie continually being fobbed off with an 'explanation' that our brokers need some kind of certification from the company's registrars. This is exactly what I have been told for the best part of two years!! What makes this even more outrageous now is the fact that both Barclays and Halifax have actually taken our money.
Since the allegation involves the registrars, here is the plea. I am not able to get to the AGM myself, so may I please ask if someone who is going could most kindly take this matter up with the company on behalf of who-knows-how-many loyal LTHs who are being denied the Options to which they are entitled, and ask just What the Hell is going on?

Hello George, as I have reported on here before (more than once), my experience with Barclays is precisely the same as yours. I have lodged the funds to pay for my options about 4 weeks ago now. But, just like you, every telephone call is met by the same response... "It's with our technical people. It's a transaction that has to be done manually". WHAT?! In this day and age is an emissary from Barclays proceeding across the deserts by camel, clutching a parchment on which are inscribed my options? The whole episode is beyond belief. You are not alone.

I'm new here, and I'm sure many of you have made the point before, but could we be on course in the next 20 years or so for a VHS/Betamax scenario, but on a much more expensive scale?

I should never have invested here. I see the going rate for a Border Terrier pup is now about £850. When I bought Muffin in 2015 he was £500. Instead of ploughing funds into SGZ, I should have bought 100 Border Terriers.

Hello R, I was in SXX several years ago. Went up and down. I can't remember too much, but I think when I sold out it was at a small profit or at least break-even. I haven't really been following things at all, so it would be unreasonable of me to ask for a brief synopsis of what has been going on. But I just looked at the sp. Hi Morar, I think the problem I've been encountering is that Barclays Stockbrokers is obviously a very small start-up operation, staffed mainly by pleasant enough young people on work experience. Obviously, when it comes to Stock Market operations, Barclays is not in the same league as the big players and will hopefully emerge over the years ahead from their present peppercorn-rent set-up in the ladies changing room courtesy of the village hall committee. LOL, LOL, LOL.

How can they impose a 5 November deadline, then, Eck, when the original RNS said quite clearly 31 December? Strikes me all our various brokers are making things up as they go along!

God knows, Blyth! Although I subscribed to some of the 2017 rights issue in my ISA account, quite properly since I already had an SGZ holding in the ISA, and I was granted the new ISA shares I'd subscribed for, although I've been credited with the correct number of Options my Barclays statement says "this product cannot be held in an ISA". From what other people like yourself are saying, it's beginning to strike me that this whole exercise is becoming a bloody fiasco!

That is exactly how my Options are showing on my Barclays account. Separate from my previous holding in SGZ and with the same mystifying 'latest price' and stonking great loss! And what is more, they were listed like that before I paid for them and they are listed like that after I've paid for them.

This has not been the registrars' and brokers' finest hour. As I've said before, it's not exactly that SGZ's Options are the first Options that have ever been issued in the history of the stock market. Best of luck to you and all of us.

Hi MindThe Gap, this seems to becoming a consistent picture across several brokers from what people are saying (others, like BlakeneyP have had a more favourable experience, although I share his bemusement that things are taking so long in the electronic age). And I do share your trepidation that we are heading towards the expiry date with no certainty that these options will have been exercised. Next week I may phone or email Richard Gray and ask him to get a grip on this. I hesitate to bother him when there are so many other things for the company to be doing. But on the other hand we have supported the company financially (albeit on a very small scale) and these options are ours by right, not just a 'free gift'.

Yes, all, after a rumbustious week I'll be happy for a finish in the higher-60s. 70 would be a bonus. As I said yesterday, I would prefer a calmer, steadier progression, rather than frenetic day trading. I want this to be a credible share (as we all know it well deserves to be) in the eyes of serious investors, and not dismissed by them as "Oh, That, it's just a Pump and Dump". Good luck to us all.

Hi Eck, your experience with Halifax is quite close to where I seem to be currently standing with Barclays. My options are at last showing in my account as a separate line to my main holding (though, even then, some of their staff don't seem to understand what this line means) and there is another line showing my 'cash on account', which is the precise amount @ 40p required to pay for them. But they don't seem capable of marrying the two up. And like you with Halifax, they seem to have to liaise with SGZ about what to do next!!!

Well done, Morar. I deposited my money with Barclays on Tuesday, and it's sitting ring-fenced on my account. More backwards and forewards between various "colleagues" today! It has, apparently to be done manually, they need to send certificates to SGZ's registrars (Why???) and hopefully it will take about two weeks (!!!). Are SGZ's registrars still in Australia? If so, I cannot see how they're going to make their two-week prediction and, at this rate, I can see the options expiring before I get them into my holding. But since they've already taken the money for them I should have a stonking good case in law for compensation. Regards
