Mike Last year they added 16 new aircraft and leased 8 mid life aircraft . They returned 13 A319 all leased.
The spent £929m.
On point one. The capex includes lease payments maintenance and many other costs that form part of the quarterly equation. This figure is a bit misleading because capital investments are within the accounting structure for many of the elements. So the Q1 update will include all the scheduled routine maintenance spend. Large capital investments will be distributed as per accounting standards to avoid lumpy misleading numbers.
The majority of the A319 are leased, I suspect that the majority of the A320 will be leased. This provides much more flexibility.
Point 2. I don't know what you want them to say in an RNS. I can't see why they would commit to anything that binds their choices or can later be recorded negatively. I would rather they keep their mouth shut about their intentions.
I am not much interested in the dividend, it's not why I invest and they largely just disrupt the natural ebb and flow of the price.
