The industry will again read success across to others but ultimately easyJet is taking market from those others

Excellent Q1, The year is booking ahead of last year ear by around the same level as Hotels are experiencing.

Q2 warning over Easter and an accounting number as we expected. H1 will end ahead of last year.

They may delay drilling on expensive or technically challenging locations but we know that it takes years from exploration to production and the rewards can still be massive.

Despite Saudi Aramco seeing demand increases in 2025 I think that's very unlikely and just the normal chat from these people. Oil usage will only decline in the future in my opinion. Globally activity is stagnant at best and technology that stays with oil is becoming much more efficient. Technology moving away from oil is definitely going to hit demand numbers.

Brent below $79. Ultimately it will be heading for the $60's

I was hoping for a buyback on the full year results, that was a good opportunity. The company is very well positioned even after the dividend payment and certainly can afford a buyback.

I feel that it would be a popular move as clearly there's a volume of loose shares at this price which easily fall to traders with no positive impact on the share price

What's your hopes and dreams. Less than £100m loss is my expectation. £68m loss is my hope.

H1 is under pressure against last year with Easter in Q3 this year. This will be seen in Q2 figures but we need H1 to be substantially ahead of H1 last year.

I believe that it will be because of physical changes made. Especially around increasing routes focused on winter sunshine that are much more likely to catch the holiday business users.

The problem with H1 results is the best we can hope for is a reduced loss. It's not really headline material as it still contains the "L" word. People have to understand the airline and holiday business and so far the market clearly demonstrates that it does not.

In fact the share price has nothing to do with easyJet it's just a traders platform to make money from trades largely against eachother. When you look back at the defining events for easyJet the chart doesn't hang on them at all.

The commercial success is completely ignored by the chart. On that basis why would we expect commercial success to be recognised going forward. The bulk of the industry guesses are well above the current share price so they are as wrong as us.

The thing that is broken is the LSE and the mentality of the traders

Forecasts have it dropping below $70. The spot is only really important because it sets future hedge offers. However it will be 18 months until we really feel the benefit

We have seen how the market is with results and it takes two weeks or more for the market to stabilise and move up in a low gambling environment. The movement from traders is irrelevant. The question is who is prepared to remove shares from the table for the long term.

H2 will generate a profit around £1bn and it's hard to move rapidly and substantially above that so the H1 loss becomes very important.

We'll see a strong Q1 performance and a caution for Q2 given the absence of Easter in Q2 this year. The market will attach itself to 1% of the information.

It's much harder to get City hoteliers onboard so it's why they have held back a taken the low hanging fruit. Also easyJet really had to carve a gap in the competition for the traditional sunshine holiday business. They have successfully done that but they have also carved out some of ryanair DIY holiday market. They have easily given up some of those Spanish routes in the last few days.

Q1 the loss will be between £100m and £50m. There are several factors.

On the plus. No middle East loss. Easter in Q1. North Africa winter schedule

On the minus. Extreme weather in Southern and central Europe stalled the extended summer.

I will optimistically go with £67m loss. It will be fantastic if they can deliver that. Q2 will give a loss around £200m. Giving a £80m H1 improvement on last year.

It tells us very clearly that aircraft are assigned until June.

Easyjet are rotating aircraft through Malta two at a time for maintenance at the moment but more of the fleet is engaged this winter than ever before.

This winter will be the best winter performance by a long way. First piece of the puzzle revealed on Wednesday..

Easyjet hedge

H1 25 80% at $808 MT

H2 25 59% at $771 MT

H1 26 24% at $761 MT

This was the situation on 27/11/24. We can expect the % in H2 to now be around 80% at probably around $760. H1 26 around 50% at $750.

The current spot delivered to the apron is $675.50 at Madrid. This is really an average price across Europe.

As we can see any fluctuation today has almost zero impact on the costs this year. Currently the spot is well below hedge.

The price today only loads or unloads future hedge offers.

Easyjet holidays have a very targeted campaign running with city centre hoteliers. They are offering strong incentives to bid for easyJet customers. Immediate payment and guaranteed exposure in searches.

I saw a similar thing in Egypt late last year.

Currently we are set for+growth on 3 out of 4 quarters. This city breaks agenda is targeting the problem Q2.

I took more this afternoon. I am holding on a two year outlook

Q1 will destroy the £126m loss last year.

This year no loss from Israel and Easter in Q1. I think that they will knock £50m off that loss just from these two elements.
