Decent update for Jet2. A big jump in their flight only business and modest for packages (easyJet are taking those)

They are forecasting an 8-10% jump in profits despite a few new aircraft delays that will add costs over the summer.

So in all a positive performance. Share price down 10%

It's not just easyJet who collapse on strong performance news.

Global uncertainty from the rookie stupidity of trump is causing caution generally. He starts much but finishes nothing. He wants much but is prepared to do little. He talks much but says nothing.

Anyway yesterday he said that America now has the respect of other Countries. He is ridiculous and delusional.

Until he is removed the world is not a safe place. Shares will not behave normally in this environment.

Thumper I believe that we are talking about the different investment types between trading and holding. Therefore missed opportunities are relevant and losses against the option to hold.

Until you stop Andy you won't know if you are a winner or loser.

We tend to remember the winners and ignore the losers. Then we don't count at all the missed opportunities.

Andy that's fine but don't pretend that trading is any less risky than gambling in any other form. Just because you are ahead now doesn't mean a thing you are just borrowing that from losers. That will be you in the future.

There are multiple risks. You can lose money, you may have to suffer some delay or you may miss out on a strong surge up.

The house wins every time. If you have won a few times and the share price is the same then someone else has lost.

£6 is nothing to aim for, it's a ridiculous valuation.

It's absolutely clear where this business is going. The prospectus cements that.

Andy surely you are not mentioning a very high risk trading strategy in the same light as putting money in the bank. Most traders lose money, the house always wins. You may as well compare betting on horses against a fixed term bank investment.

So the ridiculous share price will continue then. 520 to 550 all of 5 or 6% difference. Hardly worth mentioning.

The share price should be £7+ based on the commercial success of the business

Roo ultimately people are only interested in soundbite headlines that impact their short term gambling position. 99% of share price movement is just random trading patterns.

I suspect that even in this climate they will be heavily oversubscribed. This is exactly the missing part of their corporate vision. It will be paid for multiple times over with fuel efficiency, reduction in unit cost, reduced maintenance and of course a reduction in aircraft leasing.

The prospectus is skeletal and lacks the inserted information. How it is clear from what they have written especially in their strategy that they are building the "best European network".

They are very ambitious and this is the fuel to make easyJet the best and most profitable low cost European airline. The 157 new aircraft are genuine gamechangers for the dynamic of the business. They state that the scale of this commitment has secured very competitive prices from Airbus and CFM.

The cost of maintaining the notes is within the cost of the savings from the aircraft. The extra margin and extra capacity will take easyJet we'll beyond their £1bn target.

In my opinion Easyjet are going to be taking on ryanair for the number one spot. Easyjet holidays will as a consequence take a substantial percentage of the short haul holiday market. I believe that 20%+ is achievable.

They are identical to the fleet deliveries they have been scheduling for the last 12 months. The main purpose is to replace the 319 fleet with much higher seat capacity and lower fuel burn to upscale the fleet whilst adding modest numbers. These will be through purchase and other instruments. Many have speculated how this will be paid for.

So where does this resistance actually come from.

As we know it's all about timing. I bought 62k shares in Oct 23 and I am very happy with those, plus I had a small Divi and another to come. In Europe it's hard to get more than 2.5% at the bank so I just wish that I had taken more then. I have 111k shares today and I will take another 4000 in due course. Some are slightly higher but most are around 480p

Takeover attempts????..... Why would there be.

Given the level of choice in the market any airline takeovers would come with punishing conditions.

It's not because of oil because it around the same price.

It's not because Easyjet aren't profitable or have technical issues.

It's not because they are badly managed, they have proven they are extremely competent.

It's not because of any commercial factors at all because their market is very strong.

So why is it.....

Well look at the chart. It's the same as it was 2 years ago when they were making a loss. Since then they have turned the airline around into strong profit. They have built a profit engine holiday business that's taken 7% of the market with very little capital expenditure.

Yes it's gone up and down several times in that period but that's irrelevant. Here we are at the same time of year at almost the same valuation with massive commercial progress achieved. Garonne why is that do you think.
