I think that it's absolutely obvious that transatlantic flights will suffer heavily from the chaos in America. Ultimately people will make their own minds up but I suspect that business and leisure flights will see much lower numbers. Lots of Americans are leaving for Europe which creates some additional flights but that's not going to be enough to correct the balance.

I am just sitting with my core holding here until after the H1 results are through.

Good to see Tesla crashing again. I think that it won't take long before we are hearing of US civil unrest.

Depressing day with the lightening strikes in Germany causing delays and cancellations. It's a good time of year for these things at a low point but this could drag on. Strikes with no notice are expensive for airlines and cause major headaches especially on routes without many daily flights.

I was under the impression to be at in Germany they had to give 5 days notice. In the UK it's 14 which matches the cancellation compensation payments.

I think it's just the way it is after the large step up. It will go higher for sure.

I guess that the current environment is extremely positive in Europe and negative or wait and see in the US. I can see why many fear for the US economy.

Ultimately America is going to have to reset after trump has finished destroying it. I doubt that they will move away from their military spending. I suspect the more isolated they become the more paranoid they become and they will think that spending more on military will protect them somehow.

If it moves sideways for a bit it's okay with me, when the EU orders come in momentum will be created

I agree and I don't think that the current share price is really any indicator of anything except as a reaction to the recent rise. I believe that it has a lot further to run.

BAE will certainly pick up orders from the current energy in the defence interest.

It's obvious to see that whatever happens in Ukraine that Russia will need to be mitigated with a much more capable EU military capacity. This will be technology based first. We have seen a £8 bn addition to backlog orders, we can expect that to increase rapidly

I love the way the Americans report job numbers. Headline 151000 new jobs. Hang on unemployment increase 203000. So the headline should be 52000 more unemployed.

I think that we can expect the unemployment numbers to rise quickly given the lost markets globally and the anti american attitudes spreading quickly.

I am in Germany today and it's very strong here. Very pro Europe and anti american.

Primetime. It seems to me that Easyjet has delivered sustained growth and commercial success with very little reward from the stock market. Yes success should be rewarded but the market just doesn't work like that.

Focus is now on government spending despite escalating debt. It's a crazy time and ultimately regular working people will end up paying.

I suspect the global disruption and uncertainty has pulled money out of the market.

I have a few investments in defense stocks. I am also adding to a Spanish Solar investment I have, summer is coming.

£3.1 bn step up in sales but the real story is the order backlog up to £77.8 bn so an increase of £8 bn. That's a strong performance and it's across multiple sectors and regions.

This isn't an instant business and the volume commitment from governments was lacking. The whole proposition has changed now. Immediate order business and mid to long term build up over periods that make development viable.

This is a very robust business that will become very appealing over time.

The business carries on regardless. Bookings are clearly strong and the unit prices look positive.

Yes we'll definitely get some fallout from trump stupidity but there's no hiding from that.

There can be no peace without the removal of Russia from Ukraine and secure borders. There's no prospect of Russia winning in Ukraine. They can't hold the country without starting a guerilla war. No peace without an outright victory.

The transatlantic routes have been booming along with the Biden economy. Business done with America will be in decline and I think tourism will be substantially down.

IAG did very well on transatlantic flights, that will definitely be impacted by what's going on currently in the US and the general anti-usa feeling.

Europe is booming, I am in Morocco now and they are having a strong winter despite poor weather currently.

The share price has ignored many positive factors and even gone down on strong performance so this is rather random.
