I don't see any hype, it's very grounded and backed up by a substantial opportunity and a solid order book.

The external influences on the share price are nothing to do with BAE.

My main holding is BAE. Down today but no material impact on their heavily diversified business. They are in 40 countries and partnered with big names on region specific contracts. An expanding order book. A very substantial share buyback scheme ongoing.

If only they could buy a substantial production facility with a ready work force for assembly of military equipment.

I agree. External factors are crushing all shares because investors are removing their money and taking any profit they can. Ultimately these external factors impact some businesses physically and others it has minimal real impact.

These are the shares to buy when disproportionate activity is seen. BAE is a very strong business with a strong order book.

I do wonder if we'll see some corporate activity around the US business.

It's almost pointless to reason with it. Just sit on as much cash as you can and enter when you feel it's mostly done.

Some shares are obviously losers longer term because big chunks of their business are gone but easyJet will have a great year this year.

Your arguement just tells me that BAE global listed in London has a lot further to rise to make any sense.

I don't know what you problem is with this but BAE is a global business listed in the UK. The last results told us the order book is expanding rapidly. We are seeing new contracts and extensions to existing contracts.

Yess of course but they don't operate exclusively in the UK. They operate through partnerships in 40 countries.

I don't really understand what your problem is here. How much of BAE business is in the UK. They have 107000 direct employees 49000 are in the UK. There are many more in joint ventures or regional businesses like BAE Bofors and BAE Hagglunds. Yes they are part of BAE systems and yes they form the order book and the revenue.

It's totally wrong to say that BAE are constrained by UK spending on defense they have a massive and diverse order book for long established products

Yes that is definitely a thing. Spain had a record February. More than 1 million Brits visited Spain in February. Spending was up nearly 7%. Our performance had spending up just under 4%.

March will be down on last year because of the weather and Easter being in April this year. April Q3 easyJet will be strong. Spain is expecting another record year.

However BAE have most of their contract wins away from the UK. BAE are present in 40 countries partnering local providers and employing a 107000 skilled workforce.

I see that Luton borough council had their offer rejected on the old vauxhall site. It's been sold to an unnamed commercial entity.

I suspect that I know who that is but we wait and see.

Luton airport is a disaster but getting bigger isn't going to solve that.

The last 6 updates have been positive and immediately the share price fell. H1 will be positive but Q2 will be at best equal to last year and probably £20m behind.

Of course the nonsense from America creates some issues for people generally but it won't interrupt the £709m profit this year for easyJet.

Some things are easy to see, like IAG, of course far fewer people will be going to the US. Easyjet it's not about the commercial reality.

It's been a bit mixed in Spain and Portugal because of the crazy weather but we are around 4% up on last year which was our best year ever.
