So L2 is not particularly helpful for looking further than 10 minutes into the future?
Anyway if it works for you great but I don't recall any predictions off the top of my head that you have made that have worked out here? But if they have for you because you are trading Boo several times a day then perhaps mention that with your forecasts? ie this is a short term trade of a few minutes etc.

I ask because your predictions are as unreliable as KK's
I have never used it and win more than I lose, so he is wrong. Plus and this is pretty much known by everyone, people who write trading books aren't that great at trading, or, they don't actually tell you their "secrets" in the book(s)

This BB seems to be obsessed with the minutest movement in the SP, what brokers forecast (liker that means anything), L2 buys and sells (again like that means anything) and never, never, ever ending individual forecasts of what the SP will do in the next 5 minutes to 24 hours based on nothing whatsoever. (And they are always wrong ,never ever right. Why do you all keep doing it?)
I put up yesterday potential reasons (the bear case) as to why there had been muted response to what on the face of it are very good results. One response but otherwise no discussion, no exchange of views to explore any of those suggestions. And to put it into context there were a 1000 post here yesterday!!!!
I say again to any new investor: get off this board,it is of no help and positively dangerous to your wealth listening to the vast purile, infantile and blatant ramping posts that adorn this board.

Anglaterre, the problem here is that the vast majority of posters here are typical BOO customers so teenagers I guess. Certainly your observation of their predictive powers are beyond irritating, but refuse or unable to discuss the actual business.
Quite how much proof KK and Steve still need to realise that L2 is rubbish as any sort of an indicator on future price movements is one that needs answering too. (That's rhetorical !!! please don't!)

OWJ, Do they? Do you mean they go to boots and buy more stuff from boots, or having bought an air freshener for £4 go and onto the Eve website and buy an £800 mattress?
Honestl;y I am not knocking this because any positive revenue stream is very helpful to tip the balance into profit, so as long as they do lose money on it then its a positive but....
What if these cheap nick nacks are perceived as over priced tatt? could that not harm the brand? (Just a thought throwing it out there as a different point of view)

If its about £1 per item then it makes little difference. And what about unsold stock? But I agree with lemms that it is a good marketing ploy to help push the brand

Burt, there must have been a million posts on every single BB over the years about this. Its completely unreliable as a source of info to look at buy/sell ratios.
Personally I always take the fairly simplistic view that for every buy, there is a sell, so really its always balanced, sells never outweigh buys and vice versa.
My advice would be fwiw, to just stop using it as an indicator.

I too am surprised at the market reaction so what could it be.
Rather than looking for any great conspiracy it would seem the results were already built in to the SP. Many here were forecast 45% growth so maybe it only just came in at where the market thought it would anyway.

Well, if there is a solution to covid then it is logical to see maybe a decline in online sales as B&M become more popular again.
If Covid persists, does everyone really think sales will continue to grow if there are no venues to go to?
If as is likely, youth unemployment rockets then that has to affect sales too I would have thought.
Its not clear yet (at least to me) what overhang the slavery story has in terms of reduced margins to Boo.
They are still clearly under the spotlight both through fund managers and politically
And there is the potential of an online tax....

All of these can be seen as relatively short term headwinds, (maybe some longer lasting than others), but perhaps it explains the lack of enthusiasm after a very good run?

Well, if that's what she wanted, then yes, of course it may not have been what she wanted in which case she screwed up! Ha! who knows. My point is though, I don't see this as the rapid growth stock that I did a month ago. I know lots here are happy and want to hold for the longer term and obviously that fine, but I think the expectations of 10p-25p are a long ways off presently.
(I also think there is a greater risk now of a more protracted downturn in the economy with a V shaped recovery seemingly less likely with every day that passes. If I am right then all retail stocks online or not, will have a harder time than they perhaps were forecasting even a couple of months ago.)

I don't think we are in any disagreement are we? I think the Sp rise over the last few months reflects the turnaround so far.
I don't see it as a bargain yet because of the reasons you state, ie mature market.
It may well be a bargain, IF eve actually make money but for the SP to really motor, ie up to 10p, something a bit more dramatic has to happen and based on the latest results, assuming all goes well, which in this climate is not a given, does not look likely. Therefore in my view this is a 12-36 month project and as a result I don't see this stock as the rapid growth that seemed likely earlier this month. (I don't think CC issued the 3rd Sept update without thinking about it. I think now in hindsight, she deliberately wanted to take the steam out of the growth expectations as the SP was running too far ahead of reality.)

Hi DG, I have an open mind on this but so far my objection is that these type of websites are easily manipulated so would not put much store on the results they produce.
The thing, reading through some recent posts,is the general acceptance of how strong sales are. You do all realise that after the better then expected update on 3rd sept indicating sales would now be in the order of £22m for the year, that is about 10% LESS than 2019? I mention this for perspective. This not great sales, far from it, what it is, is a reduction in overheads
As I keep banging on, its about margin and can EVE actually turn a profit.
With all that in mind the SP looks ok to me. (it could move 20% up or down from here but this turn around really is at an early and still I think, critical stage.)

Morning DG, Skin was weird one, shares have done well over the last few months on the back of expected good news, the good news comes and the shares almost collapse...
I think they are a good buy at these prices because there is more "good" news to come. I had bought in at good levels but this time I could not move quickly enough to bank those profits. Personally, although this is on no import to anyone, whereas I have almost everything in AVCT now, I had a very small position in Skin, so I have taken a loss overall, but I my get back in on Monday. But then again AVCT are reporting on Monday and it will be dependent on how the market reacts to that report that will determine my actions from there. The only other stock I have is BooHoo which did well enough and I would expect the press, although doing their best to hinder SP rises, will go to all time highs on the back of their results on the 30th.

Hi LT, wasn't trying to trade it but once it was clear that the market saw the upgrade below expectations (as did I) I just thought better to get out with a decent profit rather than risk further falls. As it worked out it was the right call (for me), however these things can often go the other way and the shares briefly dip and then go back up again.
I think the other thing that comes across with lots of BB's and I know I have mentioned this before but it is in my view very important, this whole thing of not falling in love with a share.
There are risks with Eve, (as in all stocks), it has been a balancing act between turnover and marketing costs. CC reckons the ship is stable and now on to growth. ok, but with a longer downturn than was originally forecast, getting those extra sales on what is an expensive product is not a given. The results to date I would say are only encouraging, nothing more.
This is a work in progress but it is still early days.

Hi Ga, but what point? And Max, £5k to a CEO of a listed company is not likely to have the same meaning or worth, compared to a J.A.M family or individual.
I agree its not "bad" news, but had she put in 20 times that amount then that's a better sign of confidence. I don't know, it's just such a silly amount that to me, raises more questions then answers.
(A possible negative explanation, which I don't at this stage think is true, could be the small amount will get forgotten and the "headline" will be "CEO buys shares in own company" thereby giving the SP an artificial boost. and before you jump all over me Its been done before, directors buying their own stock to support the SP rather than buying them for expected growth)

hmm... that's weird... why would cc buy such a low, low amount of shares. It, to me, has the opposite effect of confidence. I imagine most share holders here have the same or probably a lot more. Plus she must have options. What a strange thing to do... Any ideas anyone?

My point Good apple is not that eve won't potentially make money out of the small items, indeed I think that's all to the good and said so earlier, my point is not to buy the stock because of it. Just because Tesla might start selling snazzy car key rings and small plastic models of the real thing would not be a buying signal to me for the stock.
Also and this is a mixed signal to me. The big selling item and I think the most popular in terms of sales and reviews is the hybrid mattress. Hybrid... not foam.... pocket sprung and foam.... where is the usp? (It may be there but its starting to get blurred imo).
Anyway, until further updates I think this is about right price wise, enough growth left in the tank for better sales and enough cash in the bank to support the SP.
(FWIW I will probably buy on a chart position buy in IF the Sp does fall to around 3.4p which means a 3.5-3.6p buy price.)
