Nick, maybe I will change my mind but I am pretty sure I posted on Friday that specifically not using L2 I had a strong enough chart pattern to risk a buy ate350.4p.
I am not negative on boo, what I am trying to do is get a balanced debate and for those who see no negatives to understand then, why has the SP fallen from its high of several months ago but at the same time has been subsequently reinforced with another set of great results?
This is the only good a BB can do. increase understanding so hopefully to make better decisions in the future.
Also There is no need for analogy's, as I understand the points I am making and this not a complicated subject that needs simplifying, growth shares that are going to double or triple in price over the next few years give plenty of time for the individual to buy in at a point they feel comfortable with that offers them a risk reward that they deem suitable.
And as has been previously articulated, Boo, is in fact not all that as growth shares go. The explosive growth was when they were sub 50p, over the last few years the rollercoaster has only produced good returns if traded accurately and that is not easy.

Steve, are you kidding? Think maybe 10% Think maybe 50% or that remaining demographic on reduced hours and or wages.

KK I have been in and out of boo, adding to, selling bits of, from 210p. I was 90% out the day before results and then all out on the day when 400p failed (around 373p if memory serves)

steve how do you get 1-2% of boos demographic lose their jobs or have their disposable income cut? (you know,in a world wide recession that is affecting the younger, less well paid demographic the most?
Senor T: Maybe the information over the last few months changed and I changed my mind with it? (I can't remember but I'm not denying the post you refer to but I do remember buying a shed lad at around 210p after the second fall and subsequently banking several £k profit.)

Hi rusty, its not that I think any of the potential areas of a slowdown in growth will all happen but as more often than not its Boo's valuation (which is caused by the SP), gets overlooked or at best taken for granted here. A slowdown in growth (not a fall, bear in mind), but a slowdown would have a negative effect on the SP. I think this is the headwind that is keeping the SP subdued since the results. Hopefully a slower Xmas is now already built into the price. It will be the next figures that will show how resilient Boo is. if those figures confound the market, that's when it will be much harder to find a bear case. (However if by then, the SP has risen to just for the sake of argument 450p plus and the growth maintains market expectations, then we are back here with the same question, can boo carry on with this rapid growth etc etc. Still better to be discussing it at 450p than 350p

So, we are clear are we, the increasing youth unemployment coming over the next weeks and months and the concerns of those still in a job, perhaps on lower hours or pay, will have no effect on Boos' s sales? (I have heard the argument it will affect more expensive brands but not boo), really?
We are equally clear that the slavery issue will not increase any costs to boo and affect their margins as well?
We are also clear that the novelty "Zoom" party's that took place in the first lockdown will be replicated this xmas season and some "lockdown fatigue" will not take place on Boo's demographic
And finally we don't see any erosion to the margins based on maybe, maybe a reduction in growth leading to lower prices?

Hi JT, Obviously the title of the post confused you and you read it anyway... sorry...

To all: I am not one to cross ramp and take this or leave it but if you have some spare time go on to the Avacta website and look at the presentation last week. (the AVCT BB is hard work and pretty uncivilised but there are a few posters who get hold of some good info. In short and not to over egg it, it seems currently impossible to value the company based on its potential and the difference with this Jam tomorrow company would seem to be its done and its going to blow in the next 3 months with more and more news over the following 18 -24 months. In a nut shell it is the company with the 10 minute saliva, pregnancy style covid test. And its acceptance is expected this quarter. and that is literally the tip of their particular ice berg. The Covid test is a quick spin off from their main area of research which is to make chemo drugs non toxic!! (Now that's a market!)
Anyway, I am not recc'ing you buy any of the share's but am suggesting its worth a read to see what you think.
(Not that it matters to anyone but I have put every single last penny I have into it, liquidated every asset, other than my house, something I would not recommend to anyone, ever doing!!!)
Anyway, you have all been very polite and good to me so I just want to share my enthusiasm for this particular stock with you thank you.

LT, I think that is a pretty fair resume of what we know at present. I think your estimate of £23-£24m is also fair but not a given in this more uncertain than usual time, but you could well be right.
The only bit I might still need to be convinced on is where you think gross margins will improve.
I would suggest annual sales actually are poor (less than last year remember and its only forecast to £22m on the background of the lockdown and bumper returns over the last 4-5 months.
I think CC had to sacrifice sales as marketing spend had to be slashed. she has performed very well to just about balance it into breakeven. The implication (to me) is that to increase sales further in what will be a tougher market probably having to lead to a bit of a price war, marketing costs will have to increase. There are promising signs of inventiveness with the Boots Collection and hopefully this new add agency will prove good value for money too. But all of this costs, so sales have to increase to stand still.
I am not negative about EVE, as I keep saying, the SP increase reflects the very good work done, but its only half way there and I think when CC said "inches not yards" she meant it will take a while. I think we all think she knows what she's talking about.

Hi bristolian, I have no idea what rep meant but his choice of words is revealing at least to me. He could have posted words to the effect I did. Think it through in light of the negatives aired around the figures and then make a decision, even if the decision is to do nothing and wait for more info. That's what share holder should do, imo. Not just to hang on in the hope the SP will go up. This game is not about giving comfort to others. This is a singles game not a team game. False platitudes and advice with no responsibility should not be given. I and a few others pass on experience that may help others but any individual that gains any sort of emotional reassurance from this and other BB's should not imo be buying and selling stocks. All BB's are incredibly misaligned to the overall picture of the environment the stock operates in.
At least twice I have posted the negatives that are the probable cause of the fall in the SP since the figures. Where has that debate been? And its not my opinion it was a balanced piece from HL. Personally I think Boo will continue to rise but what do I know? I publically told everyone I bought in on Friday at 350.4 based on the refusal for the SP to fall below 347p. So that's where my stop is. The worst that will happen to me is that I lose 1-2 percent of the value of my bet. I won't be wring my hands at 320p (if it goes there), nor will I be rejoicing if and when it gets to my first target of 367p. Its not an emotional journey for it should not be, imo for others if they want to have a chance to make money over the long term.

Rep, this is not a religion. You should not "keep the faith" and "hope" that your 400p plus will be realised.

Look at whats happened, understand the negatives that have been aired, make a judgement on them. If you think the SP will be hampered for some time consider selling and getting a return somewhere else or, if you think these are short term headwinds and you believe through your own reasoning and logic, that the shares will recover then hang on or even if you are in a position to, add. But please don't ever, ever rely on faith and hope to get you through.....

It would appear no fund wants to take a position yet (if they did I am sure they and Miton could have got together). So if and when another fund (or funds) wants to buy in that would indicate that "good news" will have already been released, in which case the SP presumably will already have risen quite a bit (300p plus?).
it is perhaps less likely that PI's will want to sell in the quantity needed for a fund type stake to be easily purchased. Certainly based on the time it has taken for Miton to sell off their stake, it could and perhaps will, lead to an even more rapid rise in the SP as fund managers scramble to get a foot hold?

that was a shame because I still don't know Steve, if using L2, you were recommending a decision or not. I did not understand the references to CCFD's in relation to my enquiry.
Trying to work what you said I am unable to discern if L2, really is just confusing noise?
FWIW with another repelling move away from the 150p mark this could certainly be buying signal with a stop loss at 347p, first target 367p

has anyone, anywhere, ever posted about market manipulation when the SP rises for no apparent reason? (just asking)

just out of curiosity, what makes you guys want to buy at 3.90p?

sorry steve, that was not meant to sound so abrupt and also no one should take this as advice. this is just an exercise to see how L2 can help in making a decision in when to act.
