Anglaterre, you may be right and it might be a short term blip but because lots of amateur investors particularly, dislike, sometimes hate, shorters it can I think obscure their actual actions.
Think of it from the shorter's pov.
They decide to publically short a growth company that is currently riding a crest of a wave in their own on-line field, with just-released, very impressive results, cash rich and with the opportunity to buy some of the competition at knock down prices. Director who recently bought £14m of stock to demonstrate their belief in the co.
Yet still, with literally everything going against them, the shorter's went after Boo?
It won't of been done on a whim, I am sure even the most ardent Boo supporter would acknowledge that, and I think when you lay out all the plus points boo has, it also to the most ardent Boo supporter, must look very high risk bordering on crazy, to short boo. And again I don't think anyone thinks their crazy.
So my logic, says, there is probably more to this than we currently know and drip by drip its starting, not to be revealed, because so far this is just circumstantial, it's suppliers, not boo, Pwc, are leaving currently with no in depth explanation, MP's are jumping on the bandwagon but only reciting "old" news, etc but the weight of this circumstantial negative news is, I don't think, sufficient for a short position on its own.
But you may be right..."Short term pain coming and then it’s business as usual" But on balance I don't think so. Not yet.
For share holders you need to think this through as best you can. If you are going to hold throughout, then switch off and defo, leave this BB and see where the SP is in 12 months.
If you are going to hold for now but want to see how it plays out first, then realise you will be the last to know, in other words if something really bad drops, the SP will react before you can.
If there is a set of events that would make you sell then you really need to consider whether or not you should gamble on those events occurring or not. T
This is a very difficult decision because you cannot know the future but try to think through various scenarios, try as best you can to judge how badly (or well) it could affect the SP if any of the scnario's come to pass.
I have no skin in the game so its easy for me and I fully appreciate that for others who may be sitting on a loss (even a small one) it skews your view. Try not to let that happen.
here is one scenario that seems to be picking up ground. The head of Boo resigns. What do you think would happen the SP, it would drop, ok how far, would it actually be beneficial for the company longer term? Is boo not the same company without the family at the helm, in which case how far would the SP recover?
I don't know what is going to happen but I just ask you all to think about what might or could occur rather than just bury your head in the sand and hope it all goes away. Take control over your own money with your
