Is it done now?14 Oct 2020 07:23
Did not listen to the program last night, but skimming through the posts here it did seem as though anything new came to light. Maybe the boo defenders realise now that boo were involved more than they believed and it was not an arms length supplier problem? Would that be fair?
If so then there should be a return of confidence over the coming weeks and months but there is a proviso or two. The first one is, if this spotlight does result in better conditions and pay with suppliers then that costs money and the cost of the product increases or margins fall or both. It could be some producers simply walk away and it won't be deemed profitable for others to replace them.
The other to my mind is more immediate, and that is there is no smoking gun, but if the inspectors put the screws on the bad suppliers and they are looking at jail time they might to reduce that to drop Boo if, of course boo have done more then they have admitted to, which currently there seems to be no evidence of. So as long as no one comes out of the woodwork so to speak boo will probably be ok. And they might lose some time if they have to move more production abroad but at least they have alternatives.
I suppose the only other one is whether or not this scandal has or will have any effect of their "influencers". so far not but I guess that must also be thrown into the mix.
I think what is clear this "great British company" has made increased profits, resulting in bonuses for the BoD on the back of illegal practises. That is not something that should, particularly here, be dismissed with a "I don't care, as long as I make money" response. The callousness of some posters over these last weeks and months has been depressingly predictable.
Anyway, short of new news, and I think yesterday's program was the day for it to come out if it was there, boo should be ok now.
