Safy, & Others, I don't quite understand the hostility to AVCT? Both ODX and AVCT have separate technologies and have only been brought together under the covid crisis. I don't quite see where the "cross ramping" comes in? Its public record they have been in talks about production. Its to OXD's benefit (and therefore its shareholders) to get income from whoever isn't it? It seems ok to mention Mologic, but not AVCT?
Would you prefer, for the sake of argument, that should AVCT get their test approved, that they don't use any of ODX's production facilities?

Numis Securities estimates that the market for identifying and treating the Covid-19 virus could be worth $20bn (£15.4bn) a year and that the capability to manage the threat from respiratory viruses will be retained after Covid-19.

It seems to me in the short term ODX is going to benefit from manufacturing covid tests. Presuming AVCT get approval then I think that's where the ODX ramp up in production will go to. We know both companies were in talks and then it went quiet. Nothing (as far as I am aware) that the talks broke down, so I think, which would be in keeping with the radio silence that's has engulfed AVCT, that these 2 companies, being UK, will be in the forefront of the mass testing that needs to be wheeled out over the coming weeks and months. Nothing here for the posters on either board to get stroppy about, as we could be partners and benefiting both sets of shareholders

Safy, a possible explanation might be he needed some money. If he cashed when he did (the other week) and then it was found that he new the AVCT test was flawed he would be done for insider trading. (Which I think is a criminal offense). If he thinks everything looks ok (test-wise) then by selling a small block of his entitlement when he did, and the SP goes on to increase dramatically, then he looks like a good guy who did not take advantage of what he was coming. (That noble gesture would be backed by the several million shares he still has access to, so not too much of a hardship...). And the other side of the coin is that had he waited (for the sake of argument), for good news to be released and the shares quickly go up to say, I don't know, 500p, and then he sells, is he telling the market that 500p is an over valuation and he is getting out quick, while the SP is at this , too high price? Think then of what the share holders would say!!!
So, its very difficult from a share holder perception point of view to say when he should or should not sell his shares, and what he should sell them for.
On balance, given I don't think he could sell with bad news in the pipeline left those 2 choices, and he has taken the more decent option.
(You could argue he should not have sold any of his shares but I am guessing he did actually need the money and that through unforeseen delays he could not delay any longer.)
Its just my view and I am trying to be objective, given that all of us spend most of our time joining dots and trying to guess the picture somewhat prematurely from info available.

For all the flurry of excitable posts across the covid stock BB's over the weekend the market has reacted in a pretty sanguine way this morning with just an Initial mark up followed by little or no real demand and the price falling back.
I have not been involved in what I would describe as a hot traded stock where people seem to pile in and pile out at the drop of a rumour with a time horizon of a few hours to a few days. Personally it makes it harder to read any sort of underlying trend through the charts.
However even the hot money now seems to be losing interest, which is of no surprise and it seems that we Avacta will probably not hit Q4 expectations now with everything being deferred to Q1. (I would be delighted to be proved wrong, but the lack of any detail or progress suggests to me that Covid via Saliva is (much) harder than perhaps we were led to believe to test for.)
Still perhaps we will get the cancer therapy announcement first?
What this has I think nailed now, is that there is no "FOMO" driving this or any other of the covid stocks. Too many false dawns I imagine, and the SP reaction will only be on RNS news.
Almost like proper investing.... (Something again I'm am not familiar with)

The phrase, "be careful what you wish for"... should be tattooed of your forehead so that every time you look in the mirror you see it.... if you have to ask why, then sell every stock you own first thing tomorrow and never buy one your self ever again..

last Friday the stock was trading at 100p per share and now, after the "good news" during the week the stock has fallen by 25%.
So what's gone wrong? And if nothing has gone wrong, then is this fair price now? (By implication last week at 100p was overvalued)
Or is fair value seen as lower than the price is now?

AI, well, it won't in this example but (and I haven't looked at Sona's chart), but if the investor is going to go into a highly volatile, news driven stock then I would still apply the same rules, but the exit prices might show a larger risk than would normally be undertaken, but if it was still seem to be worthwhile then the amount of the initial investment, could (should|) be scaled back to reflect the potential loss.

AI, No, not at all. Personally I use charts to base theses sorts of decisions on but each to his own. I am just amazed how often people will spend many £000's buying a stock with no thought to what price it will go up to when they would sell, no thought that if it went down at what stage would they cut there loss, and no idea as to how long they think it will take.
Would you bet a £10 on a horse, not knowing the odds,, what type bet you have placed (to win or each way), or when the race would finish? Seriously I don't think any of us would risk £10 on that criteria and yet we buy stocks really as blind as that. There is a reason why many Pi's don't do well at this game.

AI, the best tool an investor has is a plan in place before he/she buys. And its pretty simple.
A reason why to buy (at the particular price they do). An exit price if the stock goes the wrong way and an exit price if the stock performs as you expect and goes up. And finally a timescale for it to happen.
If these simple rules are considered and there is some reason/logic/plan/method/strategy as to why the buy price and the 2 exit prices are calculated (as opposed to just randomly guessing) then a lot of pain and poorly executed trades should be eliminated.

Safy, calm down, it was your post that mentioned AVCT! Id id not suggest any of the things you are complaining about.

AVCT are looking for more manufacturers. It is reported that they have been in talks with ODX. Whether anything comes of it I have no idea,.
I also don't think you talk **** (whatever that means) and as I said although its a race I am pretty sure the market will be big enough for a huge variety of tests from a similar number of providers and manufacturers. (I also have ODX shares, not that it matters).
As an aside I have no idea why there is always such vitriol between these small pharma BB's.... but I am sure that's for another day.

MFM, well, ok message received and understood. In which case, I imagine you must consider your work done here now? (you can't still be a holder with those trenchant views, and the chances are pretty good with the SP rising over the last few months, that you got out with either a small profit or small loss.
Perhaps you could just cut and paste your last post once a month to remind new investors of the risks they are taking rather than saying the same thing ad nauseam here every day? (I don't know if you have ever been in a relationship with someone constantly nagging you, and what a pain in the backside it is, and I am not sure if you realise it, but you are that person.

Safy turn the telescope around... Without AVCT, they have nothing to manufacture. If AVCT do get approval and its as good as has been hinted at, then every govt in the world may well t want that test. And I imagine ODX will be manufacturing it as well?
The market is so huge there will be I am sure there will be many collaborations between what perhaps were deemed competitors only 12 months ago.

MFM, I don't understand your posts? You are highly critical of the time that AVCT is taking to get any product to market, (fair enough) and you mention NYCT a lot. But your last 30 days posting history shows 1 post there, NYCT, and about 80 here?
As you just repeat yourself 2 or 3 or 4 times a day, I am at loss to know why? AS, (if he has any sense, which I think he does), does not read this board, so who are you talking to apart from yourself?
Why did you not buy NYCT? (I am assuming you haven't because you never post there?) but if you have, why keep banging on about NYCT here? Every one, I imagine stopped listening to you, some time ago. Even I, who will read a lot of dross from posters on the off chance there are some salient points every so often have now come to this: Asking this before I filter you.
What are you trying to achieve posting here?, what questions are you posing that anyone here can answer?
If you have bought and you are frustrated, well, get a ticket and get in line but either sell your holding or dig in, but please, try and put yourself in the readers position on your posts. You waste your time more than others by writing them.

Vegas, I don't know but this cat & mouse is starting to drive me nuts! But that's my problem. I just don't quite see the point of these presentations if you don't learn anything from them. if its all inuendo then there is obviously a reasonable expectation that (some) people will misinterpret the "message". Oh well, carry on being patient and ignore any further presentations I guess.

After all that, would I be right in thinking we have still not got any more concrete news on our product?

I take it DW has taken a vow of silence or not saying anything much? (ODX board going mental!)
