RE: So, where are we...10 Jun 2021 12:52
What we know GM, is that AVCT have been talking to the govt for over a year with presumably intent to supply a test. I don't know whats happened re:PD. It seems now we are all agreed we failed to get the test through due to PD's procedures.
So my take is: Clearly quite a lot has gone on behind the scenes with BAMS Saliva, & PD. During this time the Govt has committed itself to Innova and at the same time the Vaccines came out and were better than hoped for and that has been clearly the (govt) focus ever since the turn of the year. I think testing (given the govt are ok with Innova), is no longer the priority it was, which makes sense from their pov.
I am not sure if free govt tests will finish in June, assuming it does, then that's the opportunity for AVCT to sell theirs in competition to Innova. I just think it will be in relatively reduced numbers if payment is required. I also think it could then be a price war and I also am skeptical (but happy to be proved wrong) that the public care quite as much as we do re the S&S numbers.
Where there is a big opportunity is international travel. Thats the one area I see quite a bright light shining, but again, it may well be price led. (Airlines, I don't think also care as much as we do on S&S. They may "have" to provide tests before people leave and return, but as long as they are negative I don't think they care any further than that. and they well do the minimum in terms of cost to comply with what's mandated on them).
But, and here's the thing, If we are supplying Innova with our tech going forward then we would need to be ready to do so. That also fits with AS's remarks about the recent delay not affecting orders and it stops us being in a price war with them and diluting the market with 2 companies providing tests.
But to access any UK market we needed the CE mark , so I don't think ever AVCT didn't want to supply the UK but circumstance has maybe, shifted the focus more internationally.
So for me thats the 2 options: we either will be teaming up with Innova (but where does that leave Mologic), or it it could be (relatively) disappointing UK sales but globally, could be very profitable.
My gut feel now is if this generates enough money to fund the company for the next 5 years then its (much) better than a further fund raising exercise. As has been said all along, it is the the cancer market that is where the big money is and the sooner further progress can be made the better for SP appreciation.
