Certainly it ticks some boxes and for all AS's pronouncements, I think (and have always thought), that it was always most likely that at some stage AVCT would be bought out rather than ultimately go it alone.

Dsmith, you say its farcical, but whats the alternative? Seriously? How much can you spend on testing and for how long? Say we test everybody, everyday for 4 weeks and eradicate it in the UK. Then someone goes abroad and brings it it in and after a while we are back to square one but several billion poorer.

Thats the dilema the govt (any govt) has.

The "best" of a crappy choice is to have a vaccine that reduces spread and helps dramatically against severe illness and death. At the same time stop reporting it as it scares everybody witless (literally). (The govt felt it had to overdo the scare tactics when there was no alternative but now there is, so they will dial it down.)

So if we take off our AVCT biased glasses and put ourselves in a "joe Bloggs" mindset what is needed is a "out of sight out of mind" policy. People become less fearful and society returns to normal. And if you think that is madness, then whats the alternative? Living constantly in a version of where we are now? is that sustainable either financially or socially?

So part of the dialing it down is to reduce the perceived necessity for testing. (Why would you test for something thats not that important?)

Maybe AVCT will still be the global test of the world, but at some time that window closes altogether.

Remember its nothing, nothing to do with cases, but simply hospitilsation. It doesn't matter whether you agree with that or not but thats the reality and thats what you base investment decisions on. Where is is the market, how big is the market, do I have a product for the market. But crucially, does the market want my product?

Its still in the balance but Its tipping (imo) away from AVCT presently.

My last analysis before "the" Monday update was how important that day was in AVCT's history to date, and if they did produce some really good news, then the SP was going to get very sticky. For that considered and reasoned view following on from other analysis that has also been correct I have been basically hounded off the board.

So, (like politician's I guess) you get the BB you deserve.

UN, it all makes sense when you read what goes on behind the scenes in many of those situations. Would explain quite a bit I think (or I should say hope now on the other share!)

This might amuse you and maybe others here but I did a dummy buy on EVE last week with about £50 because the spread was quite large I wondered what it was in reality . Instead of pressing cancel when i got the info I pressed accept!

Now I am the proud owner of 1000 shares and need a 50% increase to breakeven after costs! (Hopeless really, I haven't had the humility yet to tell Mrs W what her great fund manager is doing with the life savings just yet.....)

If the WM short already had access to the this then a re-rate of boo given its premium, is understandable.

I know this BB has debated barriers of entry before and Shein in particular but it looks as though both are putting BH under pressure.

The solution is continued explosive growth from BH, which puts pressure on the new brands whilst at the same time making sure the established brands keep performing and in the fickle world of fast fashion that's a rare trick to pull off.

Steady on Watchman, you have to remember according to some here there is no better stock available than Boo......

I just wish that some posters here would wake up and realise that time is everything. An investing year ultimately wasted on Boo, has meant a year missed out on buying WOSG stock (s an example ) and getting those fabulous returns.

always its about the SP, not the company, the 2 are different. For some the penny still has to drop.

and while you are checking out watches on WOSG look at their SP over the last 15 months........

I don't know of course, but I don't think the market is expecting profit, I think they want to see continued expansion of sales and at the same time, a not to drastic draw down of the cash balance. I am the same as you and many here, I think EVE in CC, have a very competent CEO and that's a tremendous asset to this side of the business (ie keeping investors and the banks reassured while the future unfolds), given she has given a fairly lengthy timeline for it to come good.

More importantly, what does it matter to what I posted? I was replying to your point that you believe Germans don't like inflation due to their historical run in with it and the Mark back at the end of the first world war and therefore crypto was a good thing for them.

Instead of discussing what I see as a reason they would not like to get involved in crypto's you just want to know my trading position?

K3, whether or not I am invested is immaterial. This stock moves about a great deal and therefore can be traded. And that seems its popularity presently, its really is a casino stock that allows people to gamble away to their hearts content. but anyone who considers themselves and "investor" and has bought this stock is (again, just my opinion), delusional.

K3, neither am I, but a "currency" that has the wild and extraordinary swings that is commonplace will never supplant any fiat currency, (imo)

How do you take a deposit for goods that will arrive in 3- 6 months time, who has to pay the difference in the cost of between then and the future date?

All that can happen is that crypto will have to be regulated and once it is, its reason for being disappears?

if it remains outside govt control, and truly becomes popular as a means of payment, then who will collect the tax? and if nation states don't collect taxes how does civilisation exist (as we know it)?

I don't see it as an "asset class" (I know plenty of respected people do), but certainly at the moment its more of a Ponzi scheme (to me anyway)

Yes, I am hopeful something will eventually transpire but I don't know why there has been a delay. Then when I read the govt does not wants the stats reported anymore suggest a winddown in the importance of covid and (to me) it is not far fetched to by implication run down the "need" for testing?

Aberdeenman, well, how do you think it will pan out? I don't think there has been any change in govt policy over the Delta variant has there? So why will there be for the next one? And if the govt does succeed in getting MSM to drop daily covid reporting what makes you think we will know in future about variant changes anyway?

Why aren't after all the promises made, the govt not firing up the capacity here? what are they waiting for exactly do you think?

Miz, the economy is open apart from some hospitality and some travel and that will increase from July.

I agree bakky I think tests have to be £2.50 or less, but I don't know of any accurate ones that are that price yet, (although I would expect it will fall to those levels).

Jim, they are talking about testing children 7 days a week to stop isolation. If we don't do all kids what about the asymptomatic? It comes down to I think, do we actually want to break transmission or just keep it relatively low so as not to overwhelm the NHS?

I think the govt will stop spending money on tests as soon as they feel that the NHS can easily cope. You could well be correct and it will only be when somebody proves positive and it will be much more focussed and not en mass. But that's just children, what about the NHS staff, patients, the armed services, the emergency services, civil servants? is the govt going to pay for testing for all its employees?
