This too for me has been an experiment unwittingly in Aim stocks, coming away as I have from FTSE350 stocks.
What has come across is that for all the DD the value investors do here on this BB for instance (and I am not arguing the toss on the validity of that so please lets not go off at a tangent), but when I read of other stocks they are also in, they all look very high risk to my (untrained) eye.
And the other thing I have noted is that these high risk stocks (which typically means the prospect of great gains or great losses), is that it attracts the Gamblers (and I don't mean traders per se)., I mean gamblers, which in turn leads to, due to the small cap stock they generally are, disproportionate swings in the SP.
On top of all of that, I have been very careful (in my own choices), to keep very few stocks on board because I can't see yet, how the pandemic will resolve itself. IF we go into another global lockdown or at least reduced economic performance, then most sectors are affected, banking, mining, travel, retail, manufacturing which is pretty much everything!
So I am not the least bit surprised on your outcome unfortunately, and I hope they pick up in due course for you, but I don't think its AIM that is the problem, I think is the type of person it attracts that buys Aim stocks, if you can see the difference?
