Brand, previously 199p was a bit of a sticker... but when it went it topped out at 204p before falling back so now that is the next one so a close at 205p or more puts 226p in play followed by 248p.

Having said that I don't see 204p as that important , it 's just the most recent high. (obviously if it sticks around that number then it will be more significant, but I don't see it as likely)

if you have been watching today, it has lurched down to the 200p support/old resistance to presumably take some stops out which reinforces that as the important number and not 204p.

If 200p went then we are back to 180 -200p trading range, but as i said earlier today, I think we are done with the trading range.

rx, we may disagree about some AVCT detail but we share the same general outlook, so here here.

Probably wishful thinking but it looks to me as though the SP is starting to firm up now on an upward trajectory rather than a trading range.

Agent B, I think it depends now on Omicron: If it does turn out to be less harmful then it might start to reassure people we are over the worst of it and perhaps the need for never ending rounds of vaccines. It could also result in it being more targeted to say, just the over 60's etc.

There will start to be pressure on the govt at some stage to play this down because we could bankrupt the country over this. Currently, with interest rates low it all hangs together (albeit after a fashion), however if inflation requires, say interest rates to move to around 2-3% then not only will taxes have to rise but so will mortgages and the fixed rates are all coming to an end at various time slots, so certainly there will be further pressures on incomes.

Plus given the expenditure required to chase zero carbon emissions I don't see quite see how any of it adds up as it is, let alone with covid still working its way through.

I don't there is any rush just yet.

If Joules results are influencing Boo's price today then it looks positive for BH. Either and (i think this) the market has already priced in reduced profits at BH, or they think growth has stalled a bit, or a bit of both.

What might be happening is that with the SP remaining stable (so far), that this might be seen as a bottom to the market and some buying might start around these levels.

As you can tell, with all the mights, maybe's and possibles, I am not overly confident but I do see the muted reaction to Joules as a good sign for the SP. just my opinion, dyor.

generally it was reassuring and also the purchase this morning is also helpful to support the SP.

CC confirms they are on track so without putting a negative slant on it but just to see both sides of the coin, costs were not mentioned in the TU and I think that was not by accident. Clearly Sales are pushing ahead as predicted by CC and that is very good, I think, They have worked the discounts for black friday over a longer period which might impact the profit margin?

So although sales are up i have a feeling so were costs and therefore it will not be "profitable" Eve, any sooner than CC outlined earlier but the very good news is, it seems to be bang on track.

I would expect this now to support the SP. There might be a bit of fall back but I can't see particularly why and as a result if its not going down than that narrows the options for the direction of the SP to move in. DYOR

Well, you say negative, I just say realist. (I am not negative about anything to do with the cancer side for instance).

Its only ever been about the LFT when I thought the warning signs of it missing its hype were more likely than not. The fact its dragged on so long with so many chances to redeem itself has just given the impression that I am constantly negative about AVCT.

Anyway, although i take some stick about it, this is why i never fall in love with this or any company and could care less about it.

I buy the stock on the expectation it will rise. and thats it. I don't get emotional about it (well not too much), and i don't over commit.

It is a source of some amusement to me that I was labelled the "sealion" as some form of deliberately trolling and disrupting this BB originally by PL, for my stance on the likelyhood in my view, of the LFT missing its mark.
Now PL says:

AVCT up 1-2% ODX & DVRG about the same. in other words hardly moved and all well below ATH's

So what actually do you want to talk about re british covid related stocks that makes my narrative so divisive?

Don't you get weary of seeing all this demand constantly bypassing the AVCT SP? Because the bit I genuinely don't get, is that all the history of the last 12 months suggests AVCT is not going to be a player in this market, yet no one will accept that it is even up for discussion.

What has changed today to make AVCT a big LFT seller that wasn't there 12 months ago?

On the downside unfortunately, lots of other tests are now available and still no discussion about the falling cost to buy these tests. (£1.25p per test) as well as clearly a world that wants vaccinations to be the way out.

Its not exactly catch 22, but for AVCT to do well this has to go on and on and be a serious danger through ever mutating changes, or it hopefully quickly mutates to being less harmful with much less serious outcomes, in which case large scale testing has a limited time span.

Which one do you want?

Being Christmas i want the need for testing to have a limited shelf life. There you go, i did it!

My argument simply is, its not unreasonable for a vaccine that has not had years of long term use to see if any underlying issues subsequently arise, to cause some to have enough doubt to refuse it.

So I'm not anti-vaxer but there are two sides to this, thats all.

This is not ebola, this is a respiratory virus that is highly transmissible and targets very old people with co-morbidities. (average age 83)

The western world has become obsessed with living "forever". It is pushing an unrealistic narrative that there is nothing that can't be cured (look at what AVCT is trying to do. Lets assume they are successful, it would be fantastic, but instead of dying from Cancer, we will die of something else. because I hate to break it to you, but we are still not getting out of here.

I am not an anti vaxer, but its not an unreasonable argument to have reservations about a vaccine that was rushed through in a matter of weeks that typically can take 5-10 years to be proven effective and non harmful.

It tends to be the co-morbidities that are causing the problem rather than the actual, stand alone virus.

The NHS as a system is having its flaws exposed. Just as lockdown accelerated on line shopping as an example, so it has shown that our current system is not fit for purpose.

This is the catalyst, not the cause.

You don't think first we should wait to see how harmful this variant is?
