Average families in the UK are about to be several £1000's worse off this year. As interest rates rise the cost of servicing the debt in the UK is going to sky rocket further than it already has in just the last 6 months. (Its already greater now than the £12.5b expected to be raised in the NI tax increase in April).

Its a bit bleak i'm afraid so i not sure where all this money is going to come from to pay for such a huge change to the way things have been done for so long.

And I am pretty sure defence spending is on the way up for the next 5 years or so.......

There is not enough infrastructure for electric cars. How do you charge a car if you own a flat of have off road parking? The amount of roads that will have to be dug up to provide for this, then there is the expense of having to buy a new, electric car....

Lets not forget there is a parts shortage that is already causing 12-24 month delays already on new cars!

None of this will impede HE1, but the West has just had a dose of common sense on the speed of changing to new energy.

Tom Hollander is always pretty good, but the other main character was interesting and the humour was dry as a bone (which I like), and the plot moved along well. All in all its one (imo) of the better terrestial offerings I have seen for a long time.

Plenty of light and shade (Len Deighton always had a good sense of humour I think), so not simply a bleak cold, dark tales of depression which has been the template of so many UK TV drama's over the last couple of years or so.

I don't know if this has any relevance or not but watching the Ipcress file last night in the adverts had Sofology playing and the next add break had DFS on.

No mention of EVE of course but if it is dragging people to its website then EVE might get a scan over while people are there?

Its not ophidian, but what good does knowing what ophidian says is likely anyway? How does it take us forward? You can read RNs'and see the interviews and AS is pretty good at explaining what goes on scientifically for the layman. This is really not knew and even if it was... so?

What it doesn't do is throw any light to the success or not of the trial (how could it). So how does it help?

It might make make everyone feel a bit more superior that they think "know" the science, but unless you are going into a career change then all that matters is for the trial to be successful so the SP rises. and we won't know that until we get a review from AVCT etc.

DGU, it is a cert that discretionary spending will be hit due to the, at least slowdown if not recession, coming.

Fuel bills, energy prices and inflation with higher interest rates are likely to hit big ticket items (cars/holidays) and household spending and hospitality.

Then with higher costs and parts shortages for producers we have quite the perfect storm brewing and in fact just starting to land.

income is just below outgoings. The only solution is to increase profit by either by price increase, increasing sales or by decreasing overheads or a mixture of all.

The LFT was not a prototype . it was a manufactured test for sale. The tech worked. (forget omicron, that was a smokescreen imo)

Ash, I agree with your sentiment but realistically I don't expect one simply because of AS's MO.

Normally we get the enthusiastic hype (fair enough), but if it does not pan out then its silence and then eventually (when it is crystal clear nothing is going to be forthcoming), some sort of statement is tagged on to an RNS.

As for the best test in the world claim, that has to be calibrated with the cost of producing and selling such a test.

You may have a car that does 200 MPG or a 1000 mile electric range but if cost £200k to buy its a limited market and the cost negates the saving, then its not gone to be viable.

Ultimately AVCT is a business, not just a research centre. That transition seems to be the problem at the moment.

The LFT was a mixed blessing. It allowed a bigger cash raise but a lot of that extra money went into what turned out to be cul-de-sac. It also understandably caused a huge SP re-rate that has subsequently destroyed confidence in the B0D and the company generally.

Its all on AVA6000 now. and not long to wait.

The current SP does have some geo-political downside affecting it, whether its justified or not.

I have to join the chorus of "let the LFT go" brigade.

There is no longer demand for covid tests in this country or indeed travel to and from many european countries.

Omicron DID turn out to be very mild and it is in fact normal for this type of virus mutations to become less harmful, which is why the common cold is nothing more than a irritant now.

Its over. There will be no LFT test from AVCT and to spend one more penny on it specifically is simply a waste.

Affimers used to test different diseases and and illnesses may well likely have a future but not this covid

LI, I take your point but I think a mattress is a bit different for 2 reasons. Its not on show like a sofa is, its covered up so the only point then is how comfortable will it be. Then, you can do your research and see how recommended it is and that there are very long trial period/ guarantees on it to remove the anxiety of making a "mistake"

From Eve's pov, any, any at all, extra sales from this channel is a plus and a sale they would not have had elsewhere.

Again, I posted previously I think a this very early stage DFS do not want to give valuable shop floor space on as a yet unknow item. Once they can gauge through sales its popularity, then they can decide if they want to push it further through their stores.

Very early days yet to make any sort of judgement but the results RNS should reference the tie up in more detail I imagine.

Obviously the deal with DFS is structured to be profitable for EVE, otherwise what's the point.

The key, in my mind is the costs: every company I know of is reporting higher costs of production, its how EVe has and is handling this that is the important bit here as there is not that much money to play with....

The DFS deal should, being so recent, have factored these costs in, but it will be instructive to see how CC' comments on this when the results are released.

As many here will tell you its now all about the AVA6000 trial with the latest results due according to AVCT end of Q2.

Therefore you should know what prospects your holding has in the 4-6 months.

If the results continue to be encouraging it should bolster the SP although it is difficult to know what the SP will be around that time. The complete trial is forecast to be completed by mid 2023 so 15-18 months time.

So not quite as long a haul as maybe you thought?

HL is saying the stock closed at 2.82p.

Might make for an interesting start tomorrow given the close at 2.9p is the recent high....

If it could it would put 3.5p ish into play and a break above that is when it gets interesting......

Have you ever suggested that perhaps some should sell as you could see the SP falling? Even if it was just so that they could buy in at a lower price to increase their holding overall?

Looks to me like a new trading range with a stronger floor now at 9.85p

Assuming it holds there is nearby target of 10.55p to clear before it brings the recent high of 11.28p into play.

so not a great deal to shout about but at least it was quite a strong bounce off the support (again)
