Today the picture is clearer, most oil stocks down and other stocks like travel up. Looks like the market has interpreted trumps latest announcement as positive to the war ending " we will be leaving in 2-3 weeks with or without an agreement with Iran". I'm not so sure about this as if they "leave" the straits or hormuz will still be closed and regional bases + Israel would still be attacked.

The thing is oil hasn't really dropped and no reports of any ceasefire/agreement I can see.

Also volumes have been too low for pump and dump.

Maybe some market critters, im sure tomorrow it will all be clarified

It's a huge swing, sp was up to 18.8 and has dropped to 17.6.

A pretty sizeable shift and I dont think it's just one sale/ profit taking. Something else is a foot, who knows maybe some new deal will be announced tomorrow

I suspect my holding being held in American stock exchange is likely the cause( was previously ftse).

Not sure when id get the dividends now, maybe end of close in America but more likely sometime tomorrow morning

It could also really be as simple as the EIG share dump no longer dragging down the share and causing the larger bouncer compared to peers.

Well given the houthi involvement now in yemen, which also threatens the red sea access, I expect this share to open up much higher on monday.

£15 now feels like a very achievable target

I've been pondering on selling myself, but given trumps new 10 day deadline I suspect this was has some more time to go, and as such the share price has a little higher ti climb.

My exit price was always £15, but I think sometime next week I'll just bank my profit and leave, with a view to re enter if a dip arrives in future.

The share BB done not too long ago was perfect timing by DEC, took millions of shares off the market at a relatively cheap price, I really dont think this share will see sub £10 again.

Terry thanks for share advice re shares to look out for post war but I think im gonna stick with easyjet with the profits from the sale here (if and when I do it)

I think medium term future for dec is fairly secured, however I would expect some pullback once the current conflict ends. Im considering selling soon to bank some profit and maybe jump back in a little later, main dilemma is estimating when the war will end ... with trump it's very hard to guess but the mood music is he wants out

Not sure if markets have lost faith in trump diplomacy and are not pricing in a likely protracted war or of the recent oil refinery fire in texas is have a knock on effect.

Puts himself in a tight corner by stating he will do war crimes in attacking power plants, Iran calls his bluff, then he states he's had peace talks with Iran which they completely say is false.

It's time for some grown up diplomacy rather then this tweet bs to manipulate the markets

Mike I totally agree with you analysis.

I think Iran will likely walk out of this as the long term winners even if they suffer short term losses.

Trump is trapped and trying anything he can to get out.

Another aspect is geopolitics and it's in the interests of both China and Russia for Iran to come out on top

Huge volume in US dec holding 5.6 million today , compared to the 700k daily average .

Looks like people were selling into the rise but it still moved up 2%

Must be difficult easy living having such a high buy in price, im not sure dec would be reaching that any time soon.

I do agree with you, while the war is helping the SP not sure its best for humanity long term. Surely they should be looking at deescalation, the media will spin it one way but all I see is escalation by Israel and America with direct response from Iran. The mid terms can not come soon enough

You $15 expectation is looking likely atm. I suspect some of those that took up the share offer would be quickly unloading above 14.45. This will take some time yet to gain traction, but currently all the market conditions are in its favour

A little off topic but was wondering what people are considering buying once this war with Iran is finally over.

I've personally been looking at travel stock such as easyjet which is down approx 25% with more to go in reckon, but would like to know if others have ear marker other potential trades that will bounce back ?

Jim I'll have to take yours and aces word on that, as I'm not bothered to go through all those pages to get the information.

It's clearly I complex picture as you've suggested, another aspect that reserves vs debt do not take into account is the infrastructure that's been bought with all these deals, this should result in higher yields from sales.

I am overall disappointed to see the reserves haven't gone up that much, even taking into account production usage.

I do agree it appears the proven gas reserves have not gone up as much as debt but does this take into account the shift of gas to oil mix. I would suggest that Dec's current oil mix and reserves is much higher now compared to 3 years ago.

Another aspect to consider is Dec's access to higher earning gas sales (lNG market, computer centre market) have both increased so likely more profit from less gas.

It's still interesting to see the numbers so thanks for this
