Yes, so they've effectively closed out their position. Means they'll be gearing up if they short further which is quite risky. Obviously none of us know what they're doing or why but it does seem as though they probably won't sell more...

Lombard has only 0.53% of the shares approx so their short is already at for as they can go without borrowing further. Correct?

I don't think inflation is the cause of today's drop - hardly news. But rising interest rates will obviously cost Card but it would take quite a rise in rates to cost them more than a couple of million quid over 12 months and there are dozens of reasons why rates won't increase too much and why the inflation is probably short term. A short position will clearly reduce the price so is the biggest threat. Answer... Don't sell! I would personally expect any existing loans to be linked to base rate or even inflation. Card should be doing well currently and into the new year. Good luck!

Makes sense. They should be able to pay off a good chunk of debt by end February. I would suggest that this will Neva good time to release a positive news update for obvious reasons and fits the financial calendar well you. Agree that the two options then are an equity raise or some new debt. Not a bad place to be... Either way divs should be reinstated before next Xmas IMHO.

Yes, but once they've paid off a good chunk of the debt they can raise new debt to pay off the CLBILS or whatever it is. So they don't need to pay off the whole debt as cash from trading cash flow before reinstating a dividend if they don't want to. Balance is always key in these situations to provide confidence to investors and a dividend at the earliest reasonable opportunity makes a lot of sense to me (for lots of reasons!)

At the current share price / company valuation, a relatively small dividend should mean an increased share price which should provide management with more options for either raising a little money through equity or reducing leverage due to increased company value. Paying a dividend increases number of potential investors and if the share gets back into an index it is driven up by passive funds too. So it seems in the best interests of the company to start paying a dividend before paying off all the debt. And debt is so cheap still - any management team should use it to ramp up value within prescribed limits.

Agreed regarding the rolling over of debt. And interest rates looking to stay low for longer helps Card - of course. Early rise this morning makes a mockery of yesterday afternoon's fall. Totally clear sign of manipulation. I will be reporting it.

Pleased to say I'm so overweight I sell a few every time it gets close to it 50p and buy back when it drops well below 49p. Nice little trading profits and a book loss. Happy days. When it flies my strategy will change! Fun and games.

Yes, the buys outnumber the sells almost every day and significantly. However this data may be unreliable (although I question how it can be reported if not representative). Gotta be something dubious... MMs building up a book for someone while getting the shares cheap. Clearly undervalued at present. I've got a shed load so hardly independent thinking, but hopeful for the future...

What a wonderful stream of honesty and reality! Perhaps the only saving grace is that pure gambling on wheels, gee-gees and cards tends to be even more addictive and even better at cleaning you out!
