Interesting how WRKS just posted a positive sounding but really not better update and mentioned reviewing dividends - nothing more than reviewing. Share price up 10% despite still making a loss! Makes me question the Card release yet more, but confident that patience will be rewarded.

Scratch that! Retail seems to be liking the expected lifting or restrictions more than the negatives...

On a day when retail was more likely to be hit by the inflation figures than anything else, this is good news.

If the BoD are concerned about increasing prices and losing customers (I think we all they shouldn't be), why not just put in a higher minimum spend for existing prices. A bit like Majestic Wine. Or increase the number of cards you need to buy to get the cheap prices. Small increases in individual cards wouldn't be noticeable as they vary anyway...

Sell low, buy high. Hmm.... Not a strategy I'd especially recommend. Unless you have no faith in the longer term company performance...

Odd that when the market opened I (and as sure all PIs) had no access to trading for several minutes, but when the market for CF opened it was already down about 12%. Someone must have put through lots of sells before 'market conditions' were suitable for PIs like us. I guess that's when the shorting was probably done.

Makes the unnecessary woffle in the statement even more odd. It was supposed to be a part year trading update to end Dec so why even mention the following year? Suspicious. The big sells obviously came right away at 8am which is also suspicious. Private investors are not treated fairly by LSE. Ho hum. Anyway, I'm happy to wait...

Isn't the £30m 'unmitigated'? But prices will rise so it will be partly mitigated. No? So maybe £10-15m impact is more realistic. Also ignores growth in partnerships (which we know they're developing), further online improvements (to take business from Moonpiggy rather than stores), and any other business growth ideas. CF can get away with price rises while supermarkets are raising them all the time...

Not the first time the BoD has released a poorly worded update that has spooked the market / allowed manipulation (you choose!). However, the debt has clearly decreased a lot and a sensible RNS about refinancing / cost mitigation / price increases / dividend reinstatement plans would go a long way to help the SP start to move towards where we mostly think it should be. I'm happy to help them write it if they really don't have anyone with the appropriate skills!

Funny old day. Hard to reconcile update, effect on opening price, transactions, and end of day price. Inflation is hardly something no-one knew about. Apart from that the numbers were at expected. Clearly if there's inflation the price of cards will go up, and Card F will still be at the cheapest end. I bought more today (a bit early) so uncomfortable but anticipating some improvement. Will sit for a while... This is a waiting game.

Retail results strong for run up to Xmas but footfall lower last few weeks. CF seemed busy enough. Moonpig dropped a lot yesterday and probably dragged CF back a tad. Feeling optimistic...

Wow. That's a big drop. Anyone know why? I can't find any news. Maybe someone thinks it's a property developer with new cladding bills.

Thanks to whoever just pushed the price down I've just topped up a bit more! Still a bit of ammo left but - do better sensible! ??

Having sold a chunk over the last few days I've been topping up at lower prices so locking in some small but pleasant cash gains. Fingers crossed!
