Kolar, the cavity left behind won't be an issue. Tumors, non cancer growths, fatty tissue etc ... some quite massive.... are removed from all parts of the body evey day by the NHS . It has absolutely no consequence. The cavity may initially be filled by fluid but the body adapts as long as no nerves or major blood vessels are damaged or ruptured during surgery.
I stand to be corrected but that's my experience. Cavities are never filled by foreign objects due to infection. Occasionally a swab may be left insitu to stop bleeding or the swab may be soaked in antibiotics but they are always removed ASAP.
