I am no expert , but what my limited understanding is that the prices will have to converge at some point. Maybe this will mean gas needs to fall further in order for the prices to converge or vice versa.
Slightly off subject but why hasn't hmg come up with some kind of contract to secure future gas\oil prices on delivery with companies such as Serica.

Brent crude now 123 per barrel.

Its sounding more and more likely Newkotb that someone like this will bid for us. If does happen it would be nice to have a special dividend thrown in with any offer.

Does anyone have any predictions what our pile would be at the end of year. My estimate is around £500 million. So that alone should underpin the share price at these levels with nearly £2 in cash alone.inmo

There's a good article in the ft concerning Serica. All what we knew,but it mentions sunak addressing MPs yesterday.Suggesting levy could go sooner if oil falls to 70 dollars. He also said he is in discussions with the industry about what is historical levels.so in summary things could alter quite rapidly.

Crazy times flexmw. Maybe this has what's spooked Axa and not the wt. It would be interesting to see what other companies they have offloaded of late.
In terms of charts its basically why I try not to look at them regularly as i find they can cloud my original thoughts on a share.

There is a big question here. Why are they dumping on the open market and where is the buyer.

An interesting point in today's rns. One saying gas averaging in eighties. It's not been at level for a considerable time. Maybe I've missed something,but I'm sure the average must be higher than that.

Hopefully just a coincidence. My view is let's see what happens at the AGM. I think whatever happens there will be a lot of activity afterwards in all directions. After all they now have a new investor base who have bought in considerably higher from where we are now.

His remarks after the news of the wt may have added to the drop together with axa. The key point here that capex this year and subsequent years can be written off . If north Eigg comes in they could always drag their feet over the timing of production to hopefully coincide with the levy ending. There could also be a watering down of this levy if enough O and G companies complain about it. Maybe get some MP,s to lobby questions. After all it was voted down in parliament.
One question maybe someone could raise at the Agm is that did the company have discussions with Hmg prior to this .If so it may explain the timing of it and how it fits in nicely with North Eigg and future capex.

As a shareholder in in Serica i believe that the current HMG have not acted in the interests of our country. You are crime agaisnt our state you have done this twice. UK diagnostics industry .and now oil and and gas

Maybe the company could reduce its output . At least this would keep more gas in the ground until a more favourable rate was introduced. If other producers followed hmg may have a rethink.

Its is evidently a surprise to their so called qualified intellects that write for them. they are probably still in some kind of furlough mode inmho and no ones elses

My feeling now is that Serica is in the same position that is was when Bkr came about , but obviously for different reasons. What is interesting is the timing of BP selling its stake. Maybe this was down to legal issues and its image. For instance how would it look if they sold off some of their assets to Serica when being a major holder of the company. Again just a thought.
There is also the hmg's about turn with the wt. Personally i cannot believe that there has not been ongoing conversations between them and the o&g industry.

The other plus point here is that Serica has proved without a doubt how they can successfully get the best from older oil and gas fields.

The events during the past week inmv has highlighted something. The bod are not abreast of events of late.Any listed company inmv should be addressing shareholders when the share price falls Forty percent in a short space of time.
