I can understand that, but the share price dropped 20 percent on the announcement with quite a large holder reducing. There must be some kind of comment from them on events. As i posted previously as an example many companies issued an Rns when Ukraine was invaded. Although this cannot be compared in humanitarian terms in certainly could be as severe in monetary terms inmo. Twitter is all very well for informing, but as a listed company it would be far better to inform shareholders via Rns. Much more professional inmv

Information and dialogue is key in any civilization. More so now these days inmv.So why hasn't our bod issued some kind of rns. Surely they are not overworked and feel underpaid?????

My view is Serica is crap in their view. I have adopted the opposite fwiw.

Fwiw I haven't followed them closely of late, but last time i looked they were carrying a lot of debt

The dividend yield is now above Shell and is not that far from BP's. Maybe this could help in attracting some more buyers

I must admit thought this would bounce today. A we will technically need to invest more into drilling or lose the money in tax. Surely this alone would attract investors looking at a secure company with assets to drill.

There we have it. Fantastic new for Serica. I would say that on the back of of this Serica will only benefit by this together with the country in the long term. The new levy has just forced oil and gasses arm by ensuring that they invest their profits or loose them in taxation. Inmho this is excellent news as everyone wins with this new levy. Shareholders and UK citizens in the long term.
I would say that this new tax has been well thought through and not as i first posted.
This is why we need an rns from the company as soon as possible inmv.

Newkotb. Twitter is all very well ,but I would prefer rns. They can release these as not price sensitive ones. The reason I am saying this is that omega diagnostic s fell foul by using Twitter and not using rns when they should have inmo.

The wt could end up proving a blessing in disguise. If most of it can be written off then Serica has two choices pay the tax or drill licenses .If they do go down the route of exploration then this could attract a new investor base.

Gas prices have ended strong today. long may it continue. I have no guilt feeling in terms of peoples heating bills anymore as everyone's energy bill is now subsidised. Bring on 400p per therm .That's what i say.
The shares in my view are a excellent buy now as..My feeling is that there will be a lot of activity. I just hope i haven't bought back the shares i sold too soon. Having said that the yield isn't to bad now
