Interesting thought Newkotb. I think whatever happens Serica will no longer be independent. If a merger does happen i would still be looking for at least the same yield which i would have been obtaining prior this offer. Even lloyds are now yielding nearly 5 percent.

Maybe Serica could pencil in a deal at say 4.20 if North Eigg fails and stipulate this deal is off if Eigg comes in

The other thing to consider is that will they be able to maintain the new dividend???

A plus on todays offer is that Kistos is up 5%. So the offer is technically higher than 3.82. Just now need their share price up say 30% together with an increased cash element.

North Eigg could be used as a huge bargaining tool here. Maybe some offer from Kistos or anyone else could be dependent on any success from Eigg. The company could negotiate a price now , but if eigg comes in the deal is off. Other than that they could simply stall the whole process until Eigg results come in. So the sooner the better that some kind of eigg data is available the better inmo.

That's answered that then. So short of another pandemic then high prices are to stay until some deal materialises between Ukraine and Russia.

I disagree slightly as i think circumstances could rapidly change if kistos up their offer. I posted yesterday that not just Germany is powering up coal power stations, but Drax has postponed the closure of two stations due to go off line in September in the uk. If nord stream comes back on line then there could be a reel danger of over supply of power which will have a knock on effect for gas and added to that any failure with Eigg could change Sericas fortunes. So maybe this is the time sell should the offer become more attractive . Particularly if the cash element increases. inmo

Maybe they could get their heads together and come with some kind of merger where everyone benefits including both board of directors. There must be something that can be done for example farm in of existing assets from each company or joining forces on a large acquisition.

Had they pitched the offer at a decent level then it would have had more credence inmv. As others have posted what it may have done now is bring other predators out into the open. A bit sad if this falls to a low offer as we are just realizing sustainable double digit dividend growth. Fwiw i will be voting against the offer.

Germany has powered up its moth balled coal power stations and the UK via drax has delayed two closure s from September.
My thoughts are gas will stabilise now. if Nord does reopen we could now be looking at a oversupply of power inmo.

I have a limited understanding of drilling,but is not possible that carbons could be detected very early on.Maybe someone could answer that.

This is the problem. They seem to have no plan other than to keep building houses. Great nothing wrong with that.
My issue is that this is a FTSE100 company that seems to be run like some junior AIM company.
The trading update should have included plans in addressing issues. I.E a proactive team put in place to help with planning, staffing, supplies etc.
I am pretty sure there are still some talented people still out there. Aren't there ???

Almost halved in twelve months. No decent brokerage coverage and worst still no plan from the bod in addressing issues . As I posted yesterday this is not aim.
