No one truly knows what the majority of Russians believe - they have lost their freedom of speech, and the majority will not speak against their leaders now due to fear. You cannot make broad statements about what a population thinks under those circumstances.

I think peace feels further away. Trump is now less likely to get in, and he would have brought peace quicker (even if a sub-par agreement for everyone except Russia). Under the Democrats we will have the status quo, which will keep going for years

I wasn't saying what should happen, I'm predicting what Trump will do, based on how he operates and what he has done in the past. The guy doesn't care about Europe or how it's borders end up. He only cares for himself and America.

I'm going to predict what I think will happen regarding the geopolitics around Ukraine in the near future. Biden doesn't back down from being the democratic presidential candidate and loses badly against Trump. Trump sets up 'peace' talks for Ukraine. Russia gets to keep all the Ukraine land it currently ocupies and part of the deal is Ukraine being never allowed to join NATO. Trump forces Ukraine's hand by threatening to pull all US assistance to Ukraine for the war, and he forces NATO countries hand's by threatening that the US will pull out of NATO if NATO countries keep supporting Ukraine's war efforts. The peace will last as long as Trump's presidency, after which he can blame the next guy. In the meantime the Ferrexpo share price recovers to pre war levels.
