Yes, I see your points. It's a tricky one, isn't it? I can see both sides of the argument. Definately not an easy problem to solve. It's a balancing act between running your business as cost effectively as you can, and your staff getting a wage that makes their efforts worth their time.

Maybe employing a lot of part time workers and a steady stream of overtime to those that want it might work. As I say, it's a tough problem to solve.

Too many ifs, buts, & maybes to make any kind of educated guess. Anything is possible.

That said, at 68 years of age, retirement plans may well have crossed David Page's mind, so why not sell?

Andy Hornby's name is not one I had expected to see again in fairness. I did work for HBOS during his tenure, and being polite, he was described (not by myself) as being "no banker". To be fair to him though, Even though I never met him, he was described as a decent man. I did wonder what had become of him, and now I know. Maybe he will put a bid in, and a fair one which may well be accepted. Who knows.

I think the best thing (for me) to do is to hold on to my holding to see what happens.

This was always going to be expected. This sector is going to get rammed as soon as pubs, restaurants et al are going to get rammed as soon as they were allowed to open. We all saw that coming. After 12+ months of us all being under a virtual house arrest, it's the same as putting a child in a sweet shop and telling him/her to run riot.

Granted, the Bank Holiday and decent weather has helped enormously, and will have put a few extra Bob in our tills, but it's going to take a long time to recover a year's worth of lost revenue, with all the ramifications that comes with that.

But nonetheless, a good start.

I'm looking forward to a pint of too as well once our Kung Flu induced house arrest is confirmed to be over.

And I've re-booked our table at The Glassworks for the end of July too,so we're looking forward to that. As well as a few scoops of Hobgoblin Gold at the Premier Inn.

I've got a few Hobgoblin Gold bottles in the fridge for the footie, and I can do a good home made Ruby from scratch. I have all the spices but often get carried away with those, so I always keep a bog roll in the fridge too. Lol

It's just bl**dy typical. Me, my wife & other son have all had both doses of the vaccine (which I ummed & Ahhed about for my son that some of you already know about) so at least we have some fight back against the old Kung Flu, but our youngest lad it too young to take the vaccine, and it's him that's copped for it. Sod's law or wnat?

I had to push our plans back a bit,but if if that's as bad as it gets then, I'll begrudgingly take that.

Annoying, but still.....

On the plus side, my mother in law can't come round, even if she wanted to..

We were supposed to be going to the Midlands the weekend after next, but that's gone West.

Our youngest lad has copped for the old Kung Flu so we're all under house arrest for the next 8 days. We've had to re -book it for another time. Gutted.

Yes, I'm really looking forward to it. We usually see our friends that live there when we go over to Greece for our holidays, and we pop down to see them in Stour bridge from time to time,but because nobody could go anywhere last year, s haven't seen them for over a year. anywhere

We usually get one of those family & friends railcards at £30 a pop, but it saves us £58 on the train fare, so it pays for itself on one hit.

Really can't wait.

We all get that you're a bit of a fan of RR, and that's fair enough, but give it a rest, Eh?.

Speaking for myself, I am always interested in listening to other investment ideas, but like most here, when people like yourself continuously ramming a share to oblivion, makes me suspicious of your motives.

If you are genuine in your faith in them, then take enough, but you must see that you are doing both them and yourself no favours with your continuous ramping of them are you?

RE: B777 engines.

I think it depends on the aircraft customer's preferences. Some prefer the RR engines, others prefer the Pratt & Whitney, and others prefer the General Electric ones

I was bloody close to putting a suit on to take the sod*ing bins out.

Our youngest lad knows nothing about it yet, we're gonna see how long it takes him to work out where we're going when we get off.
