As you say, its still early doors yet. I know that a lot of pubs are doing well with people heading to the pub on their days off and after work etc.

With the 1st weekend of being able to go inside the pub coming up, I rather fancy that all pubs (ours and everyone else's) are going to get battered over the weekend. Happy days.

As will my other holding MARS will also be too.

Judging by historic RNS reports, there's an update due in a few months (in August,I think).

That said, I noticed that COM have issued an rns saying that they have opened all their restaurants, and subject to social distancing etc etc.

It's safe to assume that FUL are following the same scenario under the same protocols.

Yeah, all those MOU'scarry about as my h weight as "The Cheque's in the post".

An rns saying what though? Not much (that I know of) has happened. they've opened a new shop in Holborn and have recently been allowed to open up for inside dining.

I'm not so sure Platinum were ever gonna offer anywhere near £1.20 for this. I can't fault them for trying it on with what they did. Not really. Nothing ventured and all that. But there's no way in Hell I would have sold them my albeit small holding for such a derisory amount.

I just don't see them coming back with any improved offer worth considering any time soon though to be fair.

I'm bang up for that. I'll even leave my discount card at home! I don't think my liver will thank me but all for a good cause and all that.....

That said, I'm hoping to see our friends in Stourbridge within the next couple of weeks (fingers crossed) so I think that a trip over to The Glassworks will be in order. It's a great pub. Good food and a well kept pint.

You are correct as usual. Plenty of things still remain unanswered, which do need addressing. The company's perceived inability or unwillingness to address these issues is not helping their cause too much.

Speaking for myself, a simple explanation of what they have taken into account into their rationale into why they've made the decisions they have made would be good enough, but while these questions remain unanswered, this can not be helpful, when things are left to fester, they do not usually sort themselves out under their own power.

I also agree with you relating to the debt reduction, given the sh*t storm we've all been through over the past 12+months, I don't see how getting the debt under the target they have set as realistic. Getting it down to some degree is the best we can hope for under the circumstances. But a reduction is still a reduction.

As you say, I am loyal to the company. I am. The same as all the regulars on this board.If I did not believe in them, I would not have invested here. If my confidence in them goes, I will quietly leave and invest elsewhere.

I still hold the view that this Co. Will do reasonably well going forward, but like yourself, I'd be a bit happier if I had the answers to your points laid out for all to see.

I have seen posts on here relating to comments about the RNS & Shaperite's comments, and can see valid points on both sides of them. A number of things on the RNS do raise queations, and of course the points about only just re-opening.

Personally, I can't see why things will not improve once normality settles back in. To me, it's just a waiting game to see how things transpire. I have the patience to just sit back with this long term, as I invested here more because I do like the offerings here, but that's just me. Others who are here have their own reasons for being here.

Some very valid points. Every business is starting to come out of a massive sh*t storm. This, as Is to be expected is going to have had a massive impact on the company's resources. It is going to take time to recover from this.

But recovery will come. I have faith here. For now.

As well as here. Although I did well a few sgc to take a punt on FUL.

As it goes, I already have a position in SGC.

The branch in Holborn is opening on Tuesday the 18th. I saw an advert from them on Facebook saying so this morning.

Yes, thanks for your input Fairdealer. As usual, very valid (if not clinical) points. I can see good rich pickings here short term with pent up demand coming. That said, there will still be the historic losses made in the whole of the sector over the past 12+months with little or no trading. No way all that money is coming in over the space of a few good months ahead. Recovery will come, but not quickly.

I'm just not as confident in them as you seem to be. I'm a lot more convinced that this one is the better investment (at least IMHO). That said maybe you can see something with them that I'm simply not seeing. Either way, fingers crossed that it works for you.

I'm expecting to see a bit more of a rise over the next week or so In light of the Gov't a announcement of easing of lockdown next week.

I'm also in MARS & SGC as well as here so I'm expecting to see a nice boost in all 3 of my holdings over the short to med term.

Plenty of pent up demand for both here and mars. Plus hopefully more bums on bus seats too.

Looking forward to watching my investments grow.

Good news is today's Gov't announcement on being able to go IN the pub next week. Light at the end of the tunnel at long last. Good news for Marstons and of course, is shareholders.

It's not just home working though IMO. Some firms may well get staff working from home, but others,it could be argued that are locked into rents on office space for various periods of time. Landlords will still want their rents whether their tenants are using the space of not.

Plus people that use public transport will continue to do so ,for getting to work and for leisure.

Now with Gov't confirming phased return to normality, more people that are working from home would be recalled to their offices etc so more bums on bus seats.

I'm expecting a tick up in SP In the sector over the next few days in light of the latest gov't announcement.

Yes, I believe you are correct with the big players with high debt levels not doing so for a couple of reasons. First being their debt levels is one of the big ones, then of course they are already big players. MARS being one of them as we know.

But the smaller players, such as FUL and I'm sure there must be others in a similar position that could potentially exploit the status quo with negotiating better rents for themselves on vacant properties to expand and grow their offerings.

I'm hoping to stumble on a couple of others too in a similar position to this one but nothing has come up this far. Maybe I'll have another look at COM. Perhaps another small cheeky are here too.
