Renewable energy IT’s will be next…

I’ve run my numbers over a few and taken carpetbagging positions whilst getting double digit well covered yields!

With US bond prices rising and the inverse yields coming down US money is heading for high yield bargains!

London is such a basket case it’s full of bargains! Something has to give before the window closes!

Got quite a few IT’s spread across the pf and expecting consolidation in the renewables sector next. They are insanely cheap atm many with double digit well covered yields! Feel like a carpetbagger!

I haven’t read the RNS yet to see what is said about the May 1.7375p dividend. They usually hack it off the price though!

Will look later as have to work out where best to re-invest AGR and CRT now! Such a pain as had a spread of quarterly payers giving me a nice monthly pension income profile!

Earnings out on 17th March…. They already have the spin, Rusty would have played the latest iteration to the banks for the acquisition and they believed it enough to agree £11.50! lol!

Stateside will cotton on soon enough. There’s probably placing hedges playing out atm but the assets theoretically should propel the sp back to 11.50.

Once it settles over 10:00 I can set a stop for a percentage.

My rotation play from bonds to high yield may just be about to start. LAND has bounced, I bought some from 575 down to 535 ish also got some RECI for quarterly yield. There’s others in the sector with bombed out SP’s!

Also all my IT’s are starting to recover. It’s impossible to get the bottom. I had SEIT at 55p and now sat at 49.11. That’s the benefit of trading. Now getting +12% quarterly yield that is covered by earnings as per last RNS.

There are more high yielders esp in the renewables sector and if you read the AR’s you can work out gearing and how much they depend on subsidies. Like SEIT 67% is in US and it’s mostly energy efficiency no subsidies, just a small amount of renewables 5%. 47% NAV discount and 10% gearing divi cover around 1.1 going up to 1.3x

Then you have ENRG I got em at 58p! They dipped on trump tariffs. They only export a small amount from Mexico about 29% of pf is in us but not all export related. That was is not included in tariffs ! Plus there’s contract management to mitigate these risks. They’ve just refinanced some debt and gearing is low. Revenue is also set to ramp up in 2025 due to infrastructure coming on line…! I am getting +10% there!

Then look at UKW it’s sp is on its knees, got my average down to 115 there now. You can buy for less now. Divi goes up by RPI every year! Insane price atm.

Or one of my favs SUPR - management putting in plans to address sp disconnect! Lots of insti’s buying atm. Won’t be low much longer imo. I have averaged up there.

There’s also bargains in the care sector like CRT and PHP that tried to usurp the KKR bid for AGR!

That’s signs if consolidation in the sector which is to be expected when SP’s fall.

What should happen now is US treasuries go down on recession fears and money will rotate to gold and solid yield like care homes, renewables, property etc

I have a few insurers, but that’s a more difficult call. Whilst they are defensive they are also leveraged view their pf’s. So gain on rate reduction but loose out if a recession is significant in terms of client base.

So look for well covered high yield in defensive sectors imo. SUPR is a classic owns supermarket retail, 100% occupancy.

Has from Lidle to tesco to Morrison’s on books. People need to shop.

The risk is people spend less and go for own brand. There is an income link to the stores revenues so the store pays more if high less if low…but SUPR have their bills and divi covered.

Sold 75% of PXC over last two sessions. Made a bit of profit from low 4 average.

They need cash, NS Sherlock! But at least I can buy up or down now from here!

Bought back Dec…. First tranche, may get more when street opens if it dips. It’s one of those where I have been in tune with. Last I had like that was YU group. Anyways I bagged +40% on DEC so gonna have another go from here.

SVML - I can’t believe how it has not been clocked by the rainbow chasers - awesome news today with graphite flake quality. RIO hold 19%, dfs due q 4 that’s when they will bid imo. But also Anglo or Glen could show an interest. +80p imo or even +100p! Just gotta sit!

AGR - KKR upped the price. Well please with that as it’s one of my highest positions

MFAi - I sliced at .97…. Silly sp! deal is 50% of mcap but price not really moved. I will look to buy back later.

Started to average back in now. I had 888 in mind to have a look from.

First buy 884.8… I could have had 880 but wanted to see if it went to 870’s or started to bounce up from 880.

Anyways powder dry if it goes lower and sell if it goes higher!

There could be a nice bounce here if results are any good and if not well - it’s only playing with profits!

But fingers crossed it turns!

Yes the cash offer is reduced to 48.56p

But basically at this sp of 46.393 to buy you are getting ‘free money’ of 2.167p or 4.67% yield for the asssumption that the deal goes through. So I bought some more!

Some of my best opportunities have been on the top of a seller making stock ‘artificially’ low. Only for it to spike up rapidly when the stop!

I should have been more specific, meant companies as opposed to the commo.

Hence likes BP, Shell etc

On my tracker of 52 companies only 7 are up. SEPL, I hold from under 100p, my top position is up on results today else would likely be down as well. Many renewable IT’s are up though e.g FSFL, UKW, FGEN, ENRG etc

It’s a 180 from pervious trends!

Re timing a buy, I have a price of 947 in mind. Which is the short term support. But if that goes it could mean 840 visit albeit I doubt that without some serious shorts or bailing out.

I will look to buy at 940. Either gets filled or it doesn’t. If it does sell at 990. Also set a covering buy at 890 to average down just in case.

Just some nibbles here though not ‘big’ for me like last time. Don’t wanna push my luck!
