Trek- well done on your returns, you seem to have a similar investment strategy to me (and probably a few others) an income pot and a smaller fun money pot. Came across you in the early day of Highland gold which IMO sold out way to cheaply.

I do my own research which is crucial and have a similar portfolio to you but on a smaller scale, my four largest holding for 2026 are HEX,SEPL,DEC & SSPG. All good on paper but as you know that doesn’t always translate to a healthy return. Currently in the black with all four and have been buying into SSPG since before the pandemic, despite their debt which has been restructured recently. Added around £1.60 during the past year. 2026 should be a good one but who knows..

Having followed a few knowledgeable poster on here I generally no longer hug and hold with the exception of a few high div stocks, as you and others have stated timing is crucial.

Hi Trek, I have been in With SSP since before COVID, managed to lower my average by buying under £2. IMO they will probably bounce higher over the next year especially if interest rate are lower as they still have some debt issues.

On a separate note totally agree with your view on Hex as I have also read a lot of the literature that is pubic and have invested in this stock.

Been following this one for a few years, initially in at 1.28 but averaged down to 12.10 in new money but didn’t have fund free from other investments at the time to put more in.

Also I have had a few years of dividends during this time.

Mine are with the Halifax paid in sterling, on automatic reinvestment which occurred today, also had a 30% deduction despite being in an ISA and I have completed form W8BEN.

Me thinks it maybe time for a move to different online stockbroker….

That just about sums it up Trek, only been on here for a year but been investing for over thirty years and despite thoroughly researching stocks it’s getting neigh on impossible to fathom out the current markets. It’s a case of expect the unexpected, work down the averages and hope that the odd stock will go north…

Totally agree with your comments, just completed some profit taking and weighing up whether to increase my position in PAY and reduce my average or take a new position in DEC. sold DEC earlier this year when the sp went into reverse, but after investigating they do look like a decent investment opportunity at this sp.

On paper I think you’re spot on regarding PAY but I’ve been following them for a few years and given the mainly positive information available i have been expecting the sp to improve for some time. Still keeping the faith….

As you say GLO went for a song far too cheap, I was in profit but surprising what it was sold for.

Invested into PAYS for a few years now so average still in the red, but purchased a few every time they go under 520 to lower my averages, still on the bright side collecting dividends along the way.
