PL75, let’s work backwards from your post. Firstly whilst I have not sold the house I have put more than the equivalent of my mortgage on it, £50k. So dyor before you listen to me!

Is the test reliable, well like any test it’s only as good as the sample. Now ironically there is more risk with a swab test or a diy blood test (even if it takes the PCR route) from cross contamination than a saliva test if taken in a home environment and posted off! . However, PCR is the gold standard in perfect conditions but we are not (park BAMMS as that’s another upside!) in that field as far a poc is concerned.

Ok will there be enough viral load. This is a binary test so if you are carrying enough virus to gain a ‘binding from the test beads’ you’d be contagious. If not it’d be negative. Chances are though you wouldn’t be infectious and with our ‘cheap ubiquitous’ poc test strip you can test again the next day or even in a few hours. (That is important albeit not yet mentioned).

I see people being tested when they intend to mix in a confined/controlled space. Like football matches, theatre, aeroplanes etc.

don’t be surprised if at some point in the future you have to email a photo of your test cert to book a table at a restaurant!

Sure the financials here and director sells are a concern. However, the loan facility is very useful to tied them over until more contracts come in. I think they will be innovative with new contracts, once bitten twice shy (see previous write downs) and take down payments in advance for diarised bookings, offer discounts for regular bookings and charge an annual fee + a site visit fee for retained call outs. For sure there services will be in demand but they will be mindful that many customers may have cashflow issues so they will want some payments up front. The new director seems pretty focused on cash flow.

Re the director sells, we all know it can be for many reasons, I don’t think it’s selling in advance of or to cover the costs of placing shares as they do seem to want to avoid dilution. All imo.

Looking at the FDA approval for Quidel it’s not dependent on % but on the control measures. I have more to read but for now it looks like the EUA was against controls. This is, however, only a summary...

Ps someone mentioned market size and there being enough room for all players. Sure but don’t underestimate the power of first mover advantage. It usually sets the paradigm and lands the biggest contracts. In the case of covid 19, companies will run with whoever is first. Coming second is not the end but being first and accurate is a big deal and avacta will be well aware of that.

Some Companies appear in more than one sector e.g. Avacta. Anyways there is too much info to post as many are covid related but not antigen. I will add any screamers as I come to them but to help you get the gist (if you need it) here’s the sector links with the highest risers since Jan. a word of caution, you may have to click on Jan again to resort the table.
