I think the BoD with their buys and the banks 100% backing , the divi increase and the early announcement of the next divi timeline, the buy back and the excellent 1q update are doing all they can to show that this is not a distressed company. Fair play!

They have pretty much shown us that the company is performing and any drop is market sentiment as opposed to DEC specific.

All that’s left is some media interviews now if they can make time.

Malcy comments on DEC…

“ I don’t often, perhaps enough, report on directors share purchases particularly when they are in the open market and for cash. Obviously I am a fan of management having skin of their own in the company they run and in this case boxes are ticked and clearly the Directors feel that their shares are too cheap.

I also know that at the moment with the oil price taking a breather before China’s recovery is stamped, oil shares are under some pressure but this is ridiculous. DEC is probably one of the most attractively priced in the market on any valuation measure.

Recent numbers show that DEC have produced record amounts of hydrocarbons with 54% cash margins, 37% FCF and an excellent hedging programme. And as the CEO said recently ‘despite challenging commodity price environment’ the company still reduced per-unit expenses and increased our cash margins as per the above.

The company are taking advantage of the market place by continuing to make substantial acquisitions and raising money in both equity and debt markets where they are blue-chip names. Indeed they are leaders in sustainably linked loans used as reserve based lending in their acquisition policy.

These share purchases by the board do show their commitment to DEC and as I have often said the shares offer a massive current yield of some 17% and I would also expect a significant capital gain when the oil price rallies. ”

I held YCA (yellow cake) for ages. Thought this uranium narrative will soon pay out. I manage to sell them at 200p ish. You know just before they started the rerate! 🙄

Of course I then didn’t have the conviction to buy back having waited so long and moved on!

PHNX & SEPL I also rate as about as safe as it gets and then DUKE and MNG make up my yielders but I had to sell PAY and CAML.

Both I intend to rebuy. PAY I think is at bottom now and aster have bought more. Caml I think 177.

I have doubled my money trading YU mick. Tipped em here often enough.

Wsbn- I no longer hold but note they got 50% govt grant for drilling. Sp only up 10%. They last raised sept 22 which included money for cottesloe drill.

I don’t know their cash exactly as haven’t rerun burn rate but they would be silly not to raise now. If govt funding 50% then get all they can. That would make them a screaming buy imo. So even if they go higher wait for placing and by dip.

Last raise was around 10p. Expect Poulden to ramp the SP in advance but don’t listen wait for the raise buy the dip and then sell into the ops move.

DEC - two more director buys, Share buyback that I don’t like but mr market hasn’t got a frigging clue! London is run by liquidity trades and ALGO’s.

When folk realise that LSE is only interested in driving transaction volumes at apparently any cost only then will they see the disconnect between value and price. Hence I am buying yield!

Just a few stocks are hiding a very unpalatable story. Smallcaps are worse. Hence I am staying in income bar a few exceptions as income is disproportionately higher. Well if the good times return that is!

That’s a decent buy and a sign to a market that is absolutely clueless!

I just posted on Tecan that whilst the ftse is at 7500 it feels like 6500. Bar AZN most stocks have been going the opposite way to the index!

Having read Agricore’s post of 2100 yesterday he has pictured really well why buybacks aren’t always the best idea. Which I totally agree with especially now as other producers will be stressed and it’s buyers market.

I would rather they held the stock in treasury and sold it back to market at a later date. But I guess Rusty after yesterday is sending a clear message to a market that doesn’t seem to think we have any cash!

The London market is rigged by ALGO trades and hedging making it devoid of valuation. The LSE really gotta get a grip.

Like I keep saying stock prices are about buys and sells and to visualise it’s like 1% of the mcap traded can shift the stock mcap by around 10% which is nuts!

How can the ftse be at 7500 when it feels like 6500? I can’t seem to find many charts that show stock prices as high as they were in Jan 2020 or around Feb 22 for that matter which is the last two ftse100 touch points.

The index has gone up and many stocks have gone the opposite way apart from AZN which I get is a heavy weight.
