I’d use this app, but I can work at home and have access to on demand testing( everyone in Stockholm does).

If I’d had exposure to an infected person I would like to know but if notified I would want a test that was accurate and didn’t involve a stick shoved up my nose. I would want to know quickly and I would want to know when I could be considered to be clear.

If I just get told “you might have the thing but you need to wait 5 days then we will shove a stick up your nose and then you goto wait a few more days for result “ I’m not sure I would be cool with it.many might panic and worry, imagine all sorts of things, end up going into the docs demanding a test.

But might give false sense of security. I can still have been exposed but person has wrong phone type or didn’t get tested.

If I test negative 3 times over 5 days why should I stay at home? Why would I have the app if I can be restricted. Could do the same in cars. Fit device, you speed you get fined.

App and database might work when tests in short supply. But what if I don’t have the app? What if I have have different app.

If test could be certified now they would be. One easy way of tracing quickly would be to add the test to walk in centers. They already try to know who you are (track). Just having a quick high volume test would be massive. No need for a smart solution.

Are you saying that government wants to know who is infectious. I think health care want to know so they can treat you when you walk in sick. Again no need for smart solution.

What purpose would other government agencies have in knowing YOU are infectious. Is it a crime to infect others(yes). Are police going to be involved in checking up on those who have a positive test.

I agree getting data is essential. Get a web site up, let people register voluntarily their ID when they get the their test. Spending money on some complicated data solution smacks of mates getting rich.

And yes that solution is already in use were testing is free and at home (Stockholm). Not spit test so we can argue accuracy and ease of use. But no big solution needed on the actual device. Tests have a code number register to you when you get sent it. You return it. Test is known and accurate to an area.

I understand there is a desire for some rational solution why some maybe disappointed that’s tests are not shipping, hell I bought a car on the back of this. The reason is this takes time. No need to invent more reasons

If test were certified and available we would be shipping regardless of any smart data tech. The max benefit of the test is allowing people to know that they are infected. That boris and co might want to know is secondary.

cost to the tax payer of people spreading the virus in massive. If you are sick all sorts of tax implications from payrole, VAT plus the cost of people to look after you. Sure you cant just rock up and ask for a test maybe (in Stockholm we can), but supplying test to general public from public funds would be better than letting the virus have full rein. If you are a business and need to ensure people are ok coming into your premises, sure business would pay, but attacking the virus is governments responsibility!

Who does the term freeloader cover ? Companies paying dividends and share buy backs back so they have no cash in bank and need public support, bankers who get a bonus to lose money in my pension funds ? But yep lets not supply free tests to people who are on minimum wage so I can have clean hospital floors, or a cheap burger, or a nurse to take my blood pressure. Let them keep on spreading the virus, just so long as the tax payer doesn't need to fork out money. Do you see any drawback in your argument ?
