As you are well aware I was concerned about delays in the Autumn and whether that was because there was an issue with the science. All that was blown away by the data revealed at SD.

However at the end of the day we are only going to make money long term from a decent dividend and that is a long way off. I have shares in my portfolio that deliver over 10% at the moment. So I think that is where we are regarding SP until Institutional Investors see the risk return balance swing. But I still hold some shares and expect to double or triple their value this year.

A few years ago I lost a lot of money on shares with an engineering company that had a breakthrough but the major motor manufacturers refused to play ball and other advances overtook their invention. They only sold to a hand full of bus and lorry manufacturers in the end. What I’m trying to say is that excellent science sometimes is just not good enough. It has to be commercialised.

Is there a way to find out which Institutional Investors attended SD (either in person or online)?

I saw a couple of questions from current IIs, but were there any potential IIs there. If not it was just an exercise in comforting current investors so they wouldn’t reduce their holding.

I’ve been investing successfully for over 40 years. Apart from a bad investment in an emerging technology 20 years ago.

Buying Avacta shares wasn’t investing, it was a gamble with potentially huge gains to be made. Thankfully it is drastically derisked after stunning P1a results so far.

Avacta is not my entire investment. The rest of my portfolio has been doing well over the last 4 years.

I think that some investors will have sold today anticipating a long drift down to say August. Invest their money elsewhere until say July and then buy back in before the rerate at end of P1a.

As you say a dangerous tactic given the possibility of other news that could drop before then.

I’m not investing more at the moment because I’m anticipating the IPO in next couple of months.

I’m still confident in doubling or tripling my investment by end of the year.

He’s even stopped abusing me for saying that SD was warming the IIs up for the imminent IPO.

On my part I was a doubting Thomas over how incredible the results would turn out and I was completely wrong.

I’ve said I think SD was a precursor for IPO on LSE or NASDAQ. IIs will feel much more comfortable investing in a main market share and they will pile in making any dilution immaterial. IMHO

Saw question from current Institutional Investors. Does anyone know if any potential new IIs were present either physically or on stream?

Your right. I didn’t ever say I understood the implications either way. I’ve only ever said a short half life might not be a bad thing regarding more frequent dosing.

And I was replying to Timster after his attack on me asking where he had seen the half life data.

I’m just remembering him reporting a personal conversation he had with Avacta about an LFT or something that later got retracted.

They need to get the SD slideshow up on Avacta site ASAP now there’s been a leak.
